Been wondering how WP8 will handle media file management at the OS, to me this is more critical for the WP8 devices with no external storage.
According to a recent wpcentral article these WP8 devices do not show up as USB storage devices in Windows 7 (yet does in Win8...hmm). I would guess the same would apply to macs also?
This raises some questions for non-sd card devices, will a secondary app be necessary to move media files back and forth to the device? Will everything have to happen in skydrive thus allowing any OS to manage the files?
I for one would love to be broken from the shackles of desktop media management! I have a cousin who would not buy an iPhone based only on the fact that he would have to use iTunes to move files to and from his device. Using iTunes ( or the late great Zune ) at his job was a non starter.
