Except, they added Speed Dial...but won't let you pin that to the Start screen.
Except, apps can integrate into the hubs...except APPS can integrate into the hubs, not services, so when you try to comment, BOOM off you go into your app.
They could have still separated the hubs from the core OS (which shouldn't be under carrier/OEM control anyway, that should be kernel/driver/radio and that's about it) and still maintained a much more integrated experience. In order to get updates out, they HAD to break all things multimedia into Music, FM, Podcast, AND Video?! FOUR apps to replace one Hub? Talk about losing their way and why some of us are frustrated!?!
You seem to be saying what I've already said.Well, maybe you need more experience, read the source of your source:
And...
Everyone saying it's crap needs to take a deep breath and a step back. If you don't like playing with beta or even not final release software then don't become a "developer" and install this update. I've put it on my L920 and L1520 with zero problems on each device. I'm not saying everyone, but I wonder how many people didn't follow instructions on the update. Maybe you thought your phone was stuck so you did a hard reset and jacked things up. If your computer was in the middle of an update and you did a hard reset then yes you're gonna have problems. If you don't shut things down correctly you're gonna have problems. If you don't update your apps (or the developer doesn't update their software to work with the new update) then you're gonna have problems. Bottom line, this "developer preview" is for people who want to test things out and give feedback. If you're having a problem there is a place to submit issues or suggestions and it's not on WPCentral. Go to the MS forums and post there. If you aren't willing to do that then wait for your carrier to update your phone.
Why would you pin a speed dial when you can pin a contact? Y'all are so extra
Yep. Unfit and incompetent to be beta testers
man, our complaints arethe feedback. what are you talking about. they give us something to test, we should keep our mouths shut and know that this is a beta and its suppose to have bugs. you cant be serious!
Yeah its slower but hey, they've made the right decision. Maybe now all the tech illiterates complaining will shut their gobs about bugs. Microsoft didn't call this a Consumer Preview for a reason.
Man! I think both of us have the same complaints! And everybody thinks we're stupid... I'm sure many of them are having problems but they just don't want to admit!! Microsoft fixed something that wasn't broken in the first place, and that's a big mistake! It makes me wanna get rid of my WP. But I won't, I'm going back to 8 until Microsoft fixes their s***How so? Absolutely nothing wrong with the device or the install EXCEPT for many design decisions that have left many here upset (and confused since they don't address problems, introduce new ones, interrupt work flows, break established UI/UX on the platform).
There is plenty to like about it. But apparently anyone with a complaint should shut up according to the fanboys here. Ridiculous.
Also, it is not a BETA. It is a PREVIEW. Wish all these beta apologists would go ask Cortana for the definition of those two words.
Edit: the biggest overarching feel to the complaints I've seen (and I feel the same): it would be one thing if new features weren't quite there, but they've gone back, broken things, changed things (and not for any visible improvement) etc.
Yes this true, but a lot of the feedback is cloaked in noise and no where near lucid and constructive. Also I see quite a lot of "feedback" that's just "my favorite thing isn't included and iOS and Android have it". Some of it seems downright hysterical. People are hyperventilating over this, that or the other thing. MS can't possibly add all the stuff people have been complaining about. We wouldn't see that update until 2016 or later.man, our complaints arethe feedback. what are you talking about. they give us something to test, we should keep our mouths shut and know that this is a beta and its suppose to have bugs. you cant be serious!
I think WP 8.1 works just fine with my Lumia 1520, no problems so far.
It's a developer preview..... This is why companies pull their hair out with people saying its garbage, etc. It's available for people to try out, test code against, get a sense of what's working, what's tempermental, etc. The core has few problems. Most are app specific and many are already fixed or in the process of being fixed. Others will be fixed with vendor specific firmware/updates. As much as I love these versions being public available, I almost wish they wouldn't do it and keep it closed to MSDN just to stop people that have no clue and justcomplain when nobody forced this update on them and it is simply not a finished product (though likely the core is close).
There's a small update to 8.0 before you download 8.1.Guys as stated in Wpcentral forums for updating 8.1, as I updated by downloading Developer Preview app and singin all stuff, after that said to go settings and check for updates as Already had updated to lumia black update then too show 8.0 update which is Back one not 8.1 coming... As I know they stopped 8.1 for some reasons and errors but why it shows me only 8.0 update.. I Updated 3 times too get 8.1 update but only shows 8.0 one...
It proves nothing, simply WP8.1 is buggy garbage right now, so they decided to stop giving it away, until they fix their ****
It isn't a preview, it's a final version aka RTM. Nothing will be added, the only thing that will be pushed with official release is small bug fixesI wish this could be screamed from the rooftops. It's a preview and nothing else. It's going to be glitchy and a little testy from time to time. You have to be patient. People forget that they had to OPT IN to this, it wasn't pushed on them in the least bit. Nice comment, keep spreading the truth.
