Microsoft Surface RT Videos (Reviews, Tips, Apps)

Not really. It's totally unacceptable for a tablet that's supposed to be powerful and more adaptable to situations that the average tablet to not support what is a very common resolution. And is this going to be the same if you try to plug it into slightly older LCDs monitors via the VGA adaptor?

It's a limitation of the xbox video app, not the surface in general although it could be a failing of the Metro UI requiring 1368x768... Hopefully VLC won't suffer from the same restrictions when it's released...

Thanks for the heads up on AppyGeek. But as I looked at the review I kept saying to myself, I've seen that interface somewhere before. Sure enough, you then pointed out NewsRepublic. Another of my favorite RT / Windows 8 metro apps. I'm going to give AppyGeek a try. I don't know if you've seen News Bento yet but it has a lot of promise in my opinion and I like it in a few ways better than NewsRepublic. But thanks for doing these.

News Bento is great and it's my favorite reader on the Surface right now.

I have to say that I first was going to vomit with the videos on here but im surprised to how simply useful and delightful you make them all with your voice ( that accent is killing me ahaha xD; NOT a bad thing mind you ^.^ ) Ill subscribe just cause you impressed me out of nowhere :D Great stuff and useful :) Thank you from Greece and HOPEFULLY my friend Laura's package will arrive in a while from the UK with the surface in it!!!!! Im SO excited <3

I don't think you're right about this as it was saying it with EVERY APP I tried to open. But this video has brought up a number of comments so I'm going to do more investigate and follow up. Yep. I have Bento and it seems quite nice. I may do a video on it (if I find time).

Please help - When I connect my keyboard to my Windows RT Surface, the keyboard does not work/reponse. Is there any thing I have to do to activate the keyboard. Help is appreciated

Like I said, it could be a failing of the Metro UI and I think it is, Microsoft has mentioned before that Windows RT supports a minimum resolution of 1368x768.

The keyboard should work automatically, take it back to the Microsoft Store to get replaced.

Loving the videos, any chance you'd be able to do one on using remote desktop with your PC?

Yep. Will do one at somepoint. Though surely dialling into a PC from a PC will rupture the space time continuum :)

A tip i just found yesterday. When moving tiles around on your Start screen, if you move a tile up to the top, it zooms out the icons as if you pinched it out. Then you can move your tile A LOT quicker.

Yup, that has already been produced as a video; just need to upload it :)
