Microsoft Surface RT Videos (Reviews, Tips, Apps)

ok, the browser tests; is it just me or does it look like the person operating the iPad is purposely touching the links before the Surface? I think it would have been more even if one person operated both tablets

This is a quick look at two features of the internet explorer browser: Flip Ahead and Browser Favourites

Review # 27: Quick Look Flip Ahead and Browser Favourites - Microsoft Windows Surface RT (Windows 8) - YouTube

In this video you state you didn't like how the page refreshed when you flipped back. Couldn't it be because you're viewing a sports page. There is going to be updated info on that page all day long. The page has to refresh to display the most current news.

If you've been on a page minutes earlier I don't think you really want it to refresh. I'm just trying to go into a page, back out again and then go into another page. A simple setting to turn off refresh would be nice. It's only a minor thing though.

Didn't read the whole thread, but you can change the font size, at least in the News app...

Not sure what the gesture is but a right click brings up the setting/options and one of them is font size...)

This is a quick look at how you can open up administrative tools to do thing like defrag your tablet. But do we live in an age where you would expect to and have to defrag your tablet and do other PC maintenance things?

Review # 35: Quick Look Defrag Your Tablet? - Microsoft Windows Surface RT (Windows 8) - YouTube

Windows 8 does a TRIM for SSD devices that support it. For flash memory, it will do the right thing (nothing.) If it's spinning media (you know, like a USB disk drive you've plugged in to your surface) it does a disk defrag. After all, it's just Windows 8 (recompiled for ARM)

Windows 8 will do disk maintenance for you, once a month. So no, you don't need to do this.
