Hi everybody,
I'm a happy owner of a Surface Book.
Beside a faulty power adapter that came with the original packaging (already changed with a working one), I'm very happy with this machine.
Now, the problem: since when I bought it, almost daily, I connect it to a television (just to watch SkyGo on a big screen). All was perfect, till three days ago.
When I connect to the television, the image on the television shows some "noise" around the darkest blacks.. Like I can see some red pixels here and there.
On the Surface everything's fine, even if I run some app that requires the nVidia GPU it runs smoothly without any graphical noises, just perfect.
That kind of "glitches" presents only on the external tv.
PS. The TV is working perfectly if I use it normally, and I already tried to change the HDMI - MiniHDMI adapter - same result.
Now, which is the graphic card that runs the external monitor?
Where can it be the problem? Some drivers? Some conflicts?
Anybody experienced something like that?
Any help is very appreciated!
Sorry for my english, I'm italian!

Thank you

Is Wireless video an option ? Wi-di or Miracast, You can buy an adapter that you can connect an input (unless your TV supports it, some newer onese do) and all you have to do is wireless connect, a lot better than dealing with a cable.

Well I assume you have HDMI cable (plugged into TV) attached to the mini cable (plugged into SB). It seems like all is well with TV and with Laptop video. That means it's either the HDMI cable since you've exchanged the mini HDMI cable or the HDMI port on the TV. Well try another HDMI port on the TV to test that. If you have another device with HDMI or mini HDMI I would try to connect that device and if there is a problem it's likely the HDMI cable. I have both the mini HDMI cable and the MS Display adapter and haven't had any issues. My MS display adapter isn't found on any devices except my Surface Book. The MS Displat adapter plugs into a HDMI port and a USB on the TV. Then you have to search for it in Windows setting because it's wireless.
