reading the review of molly and going through the comments alot of people gave her hate even on cnet as she was giving wrong information about skydrive and zune pass as she said she had to plug it into a computer to get music she couldn't figure out, but even a cnet rep said wait tell the mango reviews come out for a full breakdown.

At this end I dont want to sound sexist but it seems like she dosn't know what she is doing and the only reason she has any say is she is a women in a mostly male driven industry (tech journalists).

But I agree it seems she played in the main menu tried each section for 5-10 mintues and then moved back over to her android.

(I cannot comment on turn by turn navigation as I have never even opened that up on the phone).

Eh. I don't think I even want to read/watch her rant/review. I heard a lot about this while I was looking up different things about the HD7 and Focus, which it sounds like she didn't take time to research her device. The majority want to stone her for this entry LOL

I think my biggest misgiving concerning this whole Molly Wood thing is that she has been given more credit for being "tech savvy" than I think she deserves. If you look at her bio she has a really strong background in the journalism industry but comparatively little professional experience or expertise in tech aside from writing about or reporting on it. And if you've every listened to her before with any regularity you'll understand that she is well known for having a negative attitude. She delights in lambasting products and routinely complains and nitpicks to death virtually every piece of tech she lays her hands on. Overall I think it was a mistake to allow her to take this challenge because she rarely has anything good to say about anything. I believe it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that she wouldn't give Mango a glowing endorsement.

Brilliant insight, seriously.

Unfortunately this happens to be true for most journalists: they are journalists first & foremost and have credentials for little else. Next time you read an article, say on the economy and business, look at the journalist's credentials. I can guarantee you that they didn't go to any business school, etc and know nothing of the particular subject matter on which they write.

It's scary that these people can wield a pen and are held in such high regard.

In all honesty, I thought Molly gave a fair review. I can understand the need for Spotify over Zune as you have the option to stream (with adverts) music at no cost. Having said that, if Spotify is coming to WP, it's not really something to worry about.

The voice prompts for Bing navigation is a no brainer. Having to keep looking down and pressing the screen for instructions is an obvious hazard for drivers.

Voice commands needs to be implemented throughout the OS.

Personally, I think it's a little too early for WP to go head to head against iPhone and Android. Until the marketplace is thriving with all the most relevant apps, it's going to fall behind in that department (which is a biggy for a lot of folk). Also, a lot of stuff that was pointed out here, I.E, Spotify, Skydrive-integration, etc, it's all coming soon. Once MS iron out these creases, I'm sure they'll overcome these, really quite, minor details when you consider the bigger picture; the OS.

From my perspective, if MS are serious (which they seem to be) about claiming a serious market share, there needs to be more exclusivity to WP. Xbox Live is seriously underdeveloped. The only thing we can really do is see who's online and send/receive messages. Sure, the 360 gamers are a worthy target demographic for WPs, but how about looking at it the other way around, as well? By that, I mean, enabling all of the 360's Silver Membership functions to the WP. When people buy a WP, if they don't already have an account, they can sign up for free, create their avatar and get going with the world of Xbox that awaits. More games, 360 game apps - like turning your phone into a real time map whilst playing Battlefield, for example. Or customising classes on MWF3 whilst your on your lunch break at work.

Zune needs more cross-platform functionality. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to stream your Zune playlists to your 360, OR... storing music/videos to the 360 and then accessing the 360 from your WP (streaming).
