After running on latest W10M fast ring build for a few weeks, I've given up and went back to Denim and will stay on it for foreseeable future until these things are addressed (the list is in fact much longer).
- Cortana doesn't work - live tile is not live and clicking on anything in Cortana results in no response
- Native app stability - News app keeps repeatedly crashing, same goes for dropped calls and native camera app and OneDrive syncing issues.
- Motion data stopped working altogether and half the Extras in Settings do not work at all
- Unable to save PDFs in Office Lens - it keeps crashing
- App compatibility - LINE has issues and crashes, Adidas Train & Run app is not W10M ready and there are others
- Skype messaging app does not notify of incoming calls on my Lumia, yet it rings on my laptop
All of the issues above could be considered teething problems and surely will be fixed in a couple of future releases, except the last one, which I see as the biggest and most important one - app compatibility.
There are apps, which are not W10M ready and won't install. Unless the devs decide to make them UWA, I am remaining on Denim.
Lack of apps will be W10M downfall, same as it has been for WM8.
It's not the UI or UX (both of which are improvements over 8.1 in my opinion.
Nor is it hardware. I run 635 and for the sub $80 price, there is none better I could find
It's all about apps for W10M in general, or lack thereof. That is a massive black hole they have not plugged up. It was bad in 8.1 and now with 10, it has gotten even worse. This may take years to stop being an issue.
Will keep waiting...
