My data connection speed is dimmed and can't switch from 2G to 3G, why?

My data connection speed is dimmed and can't switch from 2G to 3G

I have a nokia lumia 925 and after updating my phone, i had my highest speed data connection set to 2G and it's inactive; i can't switch to a higher speed connection (3G).
Any suggestions apart from hard reset ?

According to this thread Hard Reset is all that will fix this issue.
