My lumia 435 contacts are hidden - tell me how to retrieve them

my phone tells me that all my contacts are hidden at the moment but I can find them by searching. To see more contacts here it sais tap showing and when I do no contacts appear

Open People app, Settings , Choose contacts to see, Tap on Outlook .
