My sad experience at a Verizon store today

I had a bad experience myself. Just this morning I was dropping off a job application when I decided to walk on over to the Verizon store because I had time to kill. I look on the large window in the front of the store, and there was a poster of the DROID Razr M running Windows Phone 8. I was able to verify this because there was a white background with a 2x2 Fancy tile on the front with other tiles taking up the screen just like WP8's Start Screen. Of course, my luck, a Verizon employee outside saw me staring at this poster wondering if I needed help. I told him that I was struck by the fact that there was a Razr M, an Android phone, running Windows Phone 8. He said I probably speculated that because of the tiles. He then said, "Yea, it's interesting how they set that screen up." And walked away, probably embarrassed by the fact that I, a Verizon user and smartphone consumer, was able to scrutinize an advertisement on their window. I couldn't get a picture unfortunately because the situation was already pretty tense, so I didn't want to take a picture with the employee outside. But how bout that! Even Verizon knows that WP8 is the most beautiful OS. else they wouldn't plaster it on an Android phone. Why can't they advertise the 8X in its pure form instead of an imposter WP8 device? People are going to expect to see the Start Screen when they buy a Razr M. What a bad way to advertise a product/service. Gees.

Edit: Got a picture of it today

I told a Verizon rep that I wanted my windows phone because of its office integration, and he tried to tell me that the IPHONE of all phones was a better option for that.

I ended up debating with him point for point, and ended up telling him I'd never buy an Iphone and most likely not an android phone either. He then said the phone was out of stock, so I left the store empty-handed. I bought my windows phone from somewhere else.

It's bias like that that makes me not like coming to Verizon stores...

WOW, that is just pure ignorance, or worse yet, lies. Was he suggesting you use Pages, Keynote, and Numbers? iWorkLOL. Those are rubbish... I would rather use Notepad and MS Paint than the iWork suite. I seriously hate talking to any sales person at any tech store... be it AT&T, Verizon, Best Buy, Frys, whatever... They always want to interject their own biases and flat out misconceptions/lies.

Based on hardware the 8X is a solid phone. Based on the kind of software support HTC has compared to what Nokia offers, I wouldn't even consider an HTC based Windows Phone, let alone buy it, and any well advised person would do the same.
As for L822, based on what the Verizon rep said it seemed as if the OP was shopping for a phone in that price range. And L822 just doesn't compare to an iPhone 5, regardless of OS preferences.
I wouldn't get an iPhone if my life depended on it... And I ended up getting my Lumia 822 for free as an upgrade. No complaints here.

I'll freely admit I'm an honest to goodness WP fan boy and Apple hater. I make it well known. I'm the IT director at my company and when I switched us from T-mobile to Verizon a couple months back, I made most people, 27, get a WP, no choice. And anyone who wants a tablet gets a Surface RT or Pro, depending on what they're using it for. Ha! Take that Apple! So, if that would have happened to me I would have gone off on the guy.
