Phone windows htc 8x crashed and will not charge need help

my windows htc 8x shut down and will not charge. When plugged in it attempts to charge the vibrates and shuts bck down again and continues this over and over

Have you tried a soft reset?
Hold volume down and the power button until the phone comes on.
