Just restarting from the Windows 12/1/15 cumulative update and the 12/2/15 Hardware update. As usual, MS didn't put much in the way of what these updates do.

I did notice during the update that my screen went black about 3 times for a short period.

TLDR: Something's very fishy with yesterday's updates, you'd better stay away!

Well, installed both the cumulative Windows 10 update (KB3120677) and firmware update yesterday on my Surface Book, and now neither the pen, nor trackpad are working or being recognized. There are four unrecognized devices listed under Other Devices, and no amount of "update driver" helps.

This comes on top of Calendar and Mail crashing continuously on startup which began happening after that update too.

Prior to the update, the Book perfectly fine. Yes, it had that Intel driver crashing in Edge all the time, but at least the trackpad and the pad were usable.

UPDATE: After reboot didn't help, tried resetting with Power+Volume combo. The mouse disappeared at all and trackpad stopped being recognized. Detached the Clipboard, which worked, then attached it back. Suddenly both the pen and the trackpad got back online.

Just checked my trackpad and it is working. Have had other issues with trackpad not responding and detaching and reattaching the clipboard fixes that. Have you attempted that?

And my pen is working fine. i7/8GB/256

I had a similar issue, the keyboard stopped working, but the pen and trackpad worked fine.
Detached/Reattached, rebooted, etc... nothing worked. Ended up doing a full system reset and that fixed it.
Now I just get endless BSODs...so I'm doing a system reset one last time, knock on wood....

Not happening with me, but I do notice odd things when comes out of hibernate. Mouse is unresponsive and phantom taps/clicks until it fully "wakes up". Upside is I haven't seen the display driver crash error since.
