Hard or soft reboot wont help, or Software Recovery Tool job. I tried all, and still the same bug. Its need new update to fix problem. OS version is 8.10.14234.375 , newest

What bug are you talking about anyway? If you have 8.10.14234.375 there are no more updates, it should not even tell a new update is available.

Nokia Lumia Dual Sim 630 has been unreliable for the past 3 months since Denim update.
It needs 3 or 4 resets a day, making it really painful to rely on. Crashes when making calls, can't connect to the internet and freezes on several applications.

Microsoft has acknowledged the problem but have not provided any estimated time of release for a fix or update.
Obviously this is the sort of customer service I'd expect after Microsoft has taken over Nokia.
It's not a blue screen but the mobile equivalent.

And the worst part is that they keep on selling these DS phones that don't work.

Grrrrrrrrr......

Was fine b4 denim, but the day it updated the issues began:

1 Dialling contacts but never connecting
2 When the above happens and I try to end call, then stays on ending loop
3 Only way to disconnect cycles is to power down phone
4 Power down takes excess of 10 mins to complete, only 'goodbye' on screen
5 When phone powers up, I get 'sim error' and am asked to 'fix' my phone but all my data will be removed. Suggests a backup of phones contents to my PC
6 WP don't back up to pc optionally, so I cant check if they've messed this bit up too. (all well & good saying they will save my data to cloud, but they also promised improved functionality with the denim . update that took months and was promised much, much much sooner.....reliable so far - I think not) I simply don't trust that MS have the capability to back up my data reliably!

7 Text messages: I text someone. No reply. Next time I talk to them via other media they say 'what text?'
8 Back comes the whole power down debacle as in steps 3,4 & 5 as above.
9 after powerup, I get notification that my message was unsuccessful (sometimes days later)
10 Incoming texts do the same, so I do not get them either. Power down....I get hundreds that have been frying to send for days....


So, the issues this has caused are, I cant make a call without 10-12 minutes of powerdown / up cycle. So, emergency calls are out of the question.
I have to powerdown, power up, text / call, then powerdown then up to know if it worked. Nearly 20 mins for an 'Im on my way' text.

Basically I have a windows 'pod' : no phone calls, no texts, limited apps and little screen.

I, alongside others are getting royally sick of MS ignoring these issues ad passing the onus onto formumites to deal with.
I have a very small, limited capability tablet which runs off MS. Way to sneak the figures up for those MS Pro unit sales MS (sic).

After waiting aeons for Denim, and getting impatient that it took nearly a year for us in the UK to get, Im now losing all respect for MS and the way they treat their loyal (!) users.

PHEW!!!!! How i haven't launched a new Lumia satellite I don't know.....probably cos I cant throw that hard :angry:

This is same probleme I have and Windows Recovery Tool want help!!!

Same, I have this problem as well, and after 3 or 4 months theres still no oficial information regarding fixes...

Worst costumer service I've ever experienced

So ... i tried with Windows Insider. Some gay has recommended from gsm-arena. Install Windows insider, wait for update. You will download Denim Update 2 (he works for 630 dual), install update. After that uninstall Windows Insider

With windows insider I did all the updates up to win 10 technical preview and all the problems remain...

Since my phone was still in warranty i sent it to the store to be repaired. When returned i saw they reinstalled it, still Denim, and still having this problem. Naturally, i sent it again for repairs and on the second try they replaced the phone. I know this is not a solution, but it makes me think that there are some incompatibilities between the phone and Denim(?), so until an update is released i think there isn't much to be done. If someone finds a solution, do tell.

Its been 2 days since i got the replacement phone and it seems to be working properly, hopefullly it will stay that way. (It has the latest OS and updates as the previous one 8.10.14234.375)

I've tried a fresh reset without installing any apps and without inserting an sd card and apparently it lasts 1 or 2 days without getting unresponsive. Probably it has something to do with the memory...
Nonetheless this is no way to use a smartphone :=)

I have made the last update for windows on my lumia 630 and now i need to restart the phone every hour to work , nobody can phone me until i make the restart !

I made a progress in solving problem with changing region on phone. Old settings is US because I want Cortana to work. Now region settings in on my country, Serbia. Changed also language to Serbian. Phone now work better, and need to restart once in two day.
Other thing, all apps moved to phone. Phone memory is almost full but phone is working better.

Hello everybody. I was wondering if anyone else has been having troubles with GPS tracking on their 630(DS) or 635?

I'm an avid cyclist. I've tried most of the top-rated apps such as: Sports Tracker, Cycle Tracks GPS, Cyclers or Edomondo... but the results is always the same = irregular losses of GPS signal about once every 10 rides. The phone loses the GPS signal (fix) and it never reconnects for the remainder of the ride. The most "pleasing" thing to happen is when it stops recording the ride after just a few kilometers in, then I get back home, look at my phone and see I "lost" pretty much my whole ride.

Apart from reboot (which is the most effective solution) the next thing that usually solves the problem is to close and launch the GPS tracking app again, but the problems with that are:
1) I can't keep constant track of my phone while I'm on a bicycle and the phone is in my backpack.
2) Some of the apps don't allow you to continue stored workouts.

I suspect the PHONE or the GPS CHIP might be overheating? The phone has already been warranty "repaired" once a couple months back. It worked somewhat reasonably (I got about 3 GPS signal losses since then) until now when I got another 3 in a week.

There's a major difference as Network based uses your carrier's antennas to triangulate your position and Wi-fi uses wi-fi hotspots, while GPS uses satellites to triangulate. GPS is by far much more precise too.

And my 630 seems to do a good job with the maps, at least when I'm using it for finding directions. Never tried to see how it does with those type of apps you are using.

Problem is on network setting.CHANGE settings on Mobile network+SIM . There is setting on max network speed. Set to 2G and problem will go away

My network cant carry 3G all the time, and that causing problem.
