Not impressed by the action center

3. I thought that just for me who use low device (I'm using 720). I think this lag because it just use the lowest processor and ram consumption. Yes it will be a little lag but it save more battery consumption and make first apps not getting lag. I hope they will make it more smooth :)
Heyy , it turns out that this is a "catch" . If you release your finer at that point between the action and notification centers , you'll have you action centre revealed and no notification center, so its not lag after all :D

What I would really like...actionable notifications.
That would be a great addition to the whole "better notification and banner" experience.

I am impressed with the notification and action center and I do hope MS adds a data toggle for all those that need it

What's actionable notifications ?

Have a app like status tile nd pin all your toggle to start screen matter solved.

Sent from my C2305 using WPCentral Forums mobile app

It's not my problem to solve ,im a user , Microsoft should solve this for all of us

again we are not talking about that. when you have 1-2 notifications scroll all the way down. You will notice its smooth. Now when you have many notifications again scroll all the way down again. You will notice when you get to start seeing them there a small hiccup. Very tiny but there is (after that tiny lag the smoothness returns). It ruins the experience for me at least.

What you generally do is not what people do. I would prefer to go into my Wifi settings and manually select Wifi hotspots from the Action centre without going into settings. To that effect, the Action centre works perfectly.

I'm a college student and im a teenager. We are the highest population around here and im part of the people. Everyone does what I do with my phone. I'm sure. And if there are different preferences for a "few" of us , then I suggest Microsoft to give us freedom of choice

I really agree with you on No.1. I usually toggle my data settings 10-15 times a day, while I use WiFi once in 10-15 days. This is seriously inconvenient & now I'll have to keep an app installed on my phone which can provide a data settings tile on my start screen. I simply can't understand why MS likes to remove or does not like to add something which brings convenience to many of us. I specifically needed a data toggle in the action center, & without it, it's next to useless for me.

It's not even real man. When you heat about an action center, the first things that pop-up in your mind are data connection, Wi-Fi , rotation lock , airplane mode, Bluetooth, location. So yeah it important. And Apple and Google have one , why not us ?

They made I intentionally, someone pointed out that this is actually for releasing your finger at that little hiccup and there you have it ! An action center with no revealed notification center

if it was intentional the hiccup would be there when there is 1-2 notifications but there isnt

hail hitler.

actionable messages ??
For example you get a text and you press on a toast and small chat windows appears on the top, you write the message and press enter it gets sent, you don't need to get into the app that way.
It's kind of a revolutionary feature, it was in WP8.1 beta builds

I like the WiFi toggle direct me to the setting when I want to turn it off
Because I can set auto turn on duration.
That's why they direct me to the setting instead of directly turn off.

Apologetics.
They could have easily implemented long press to go into settings, but no. I think they made it different just for the sake of being different. It's not a big deal, and I don't personally care how it works one way or the other, but please just stop being Microsoft advocates and accept the truth:smile: . Not everything is always great.

I don't see anything useful about this. It doesn't reduce the steps necessary to reply to a message - Tap on the message - write text -press reply. It would just clutter up the action center for no practical reason.

Hahaha, wow! Sure!!

1. Its a necessity to all of us. turning off 3G when at home turning it back on when going out. Its something you do everyday no doubt about it
l

i get why some people need it, but to say it's a necessity for all of us, is really really over hyping this, I never turn off my data unless i'm on an airplane and I'm sure there are more than enough people like me. It's an odd omission from the action centre, but let's not make this setting a necessity for everyone

Read it again, until you understand

Hello,
I would agree on adding Cellular data to toggle.
They could add this option to the menu. On the one hand it would be a life saver for us (who turn it on and off 10 times a day because of battery life). On the other hand, I don't see why would it bother other people, who don't need it if there is an extra option to chose from. It only further increases the flexibility of the OS.

I would agree on adding WiFi to full toggle.
If you want to go to full WiFi settings you can still go via tiles (like till now). After all, settings in the action center are supposed to be fast (quick) right?

One thing i would like to see in toggle mode on action center is flashlight!!!
Turning flashlight on/off without the need to unlock the phone would be a life saver :) A feature that many phones don't have :)

Even this first version of action center is faaar better than no action center - that is for sure ;)

Cheers :)

Although you some points in your statement, let me just remind you and everybody else, that this is a "BETA" update, so things like the once you mentioned in your thread can be get better.
a few months back when I heard about the action centre I was very excited and I'm glad its there. Notice I said the action centre and NOT the notification centre. Just in case someone tries to act smart or anything
Moving on. lets face it everyone, I can guarantee to you100% that the two most used toggles are data Connection ON/OFF and the Wi-Fi. So here are the 3 bummers that I found in the action centre. Data connection as in Data Pack as in 3G,4G, etc.;
1. Absence of a Data Connection toggle
2. the Wi-Fi toggle isn't really to turn it on or off but to take you to the setting for Wi-Fi where you can turn it ON/OFF. Now hold on, I know that you can use the Wi-Fi button to directly turn it ON but NOT to directly turn it OFF. This makes it a total of 3 steps 1.swipe down 2. tap the Wi-Fi button 3. switch Wi-Fi off from the normal settings menu. In contrast to the old way of toggling Wi-Fi on and off which was adding a tile and pressing that tile will take you directly to Wi-Fi setting. See? a total of 2 steps only. So Microsoft added an extra step really unless they change that into an ON/OFF toggle like a rotation lock or airplane mode

3. (not really relevant but there is a millisecond lag while swiping down between revealing the action centre and notification centre which ruins the beauty of the action + notification centre

I'm definitely impressed by it, though it has room for improvement. But at least now I don't have to go to settings all over again to turn on Wi-Fi.

Action for me -
it is half baked and have lot of room for improvement.
But it's new , so it's just ok for me.
but still not satisfactory.
