Not Receiving Skype Notifications on WP8 / Nokia Lumia 920

I cannot get notifications to work on my Lumia 920. Skype is started and running in the background, but I do not get a lock screen notification, toast or new message indicator on the Skype home screen tile. This is frustrating! Any ideas?

try reinstalling the app.
if u want it on lock screen you have to pin it there by going into settings, lock screen

Most of us (all of us?) don't get skype notifications. That's because of faulty app implementation not because you did something wrong.

^really. Windows Phone 8 version of Skype is the only one that has push notification (aka always mode) where you can receive messages even if the app is not open. in my experience it is very fast and reliable.
