yes you can. however, since the battery life is so great. you might never need too.

Yup, feel free to plug-in and use, but it's best if done on a non-moving surface (pun not intended): whether it'd be your lap, a desk, etc. The magnetic connector is great, but too quick of a movement and it'll pop right out (however, you at least don't have to worry a clumsy trip over the power cord pulling it off a desk, leading to an untimely death).

But for the most part, as long as you aren't jerking the device this way and that, it'll be fine. So power up while you play.

Hi! Here?s another happy Surface 2 owner, from sunny Portugal!

I am very happy with the quality of this product and already amazed on his power (multitasking and productivity), battery life and display HD quality. I am exploring also the store (i am a bit disapointed on the lack of games for surface) and multimedia (we need vlc for a nice support on mkv movies, without conversion tasks!

So, i gonna learn a lot more on this foruns,and see your feedback and sugestions on this windows ecossistem

Edit: one question, isn?t the game "Sprinkle", previously available on nvidea tegrazone, available anymore? The NvideaTegraZone app, doesn?t show it anymore, but i have readed that this game have been available for rt...

I bought a Surface 2 32GB today to replace my original RT which I sold on Friday. Wasn't easy getting it though.

I went to John Lewis in Liverpool City Centre and saw that the display tablets were original Surface RT/Pro devices. I asked if they had any Surface 2's in stock and one of the employees (wearing a Samsung-branded shirt) told me they weren't out yet. When I told them it came out Tuesday they checked their own website (which I had done already to confirm they had the stock) and they had to check their own stock system to confirm that the website was wrong and all their stock is still at the central warehouse.

I left there and headed to Argos (only one Argos store in the city centre, of which there are 3, had a Surface 2) and they had a note on the door to say they had to close due to unforeseen circumstances! At this point my options were to go to another Argos out of town, but Argos don't sell the covers so I decided to go to the Currys store in the city centre to pick up a Type Cover 2 before heading out of town to get the Surface. Low and behold they only had original Type and Touch Covers, even though their website said they had stock of the Surface 2 covers. The guy in there tried to get me to buy the original type cover saying that because the price was ?109.99 it had to be the Type Cover 2 (even though I pointed out it should say it on the packaging). Frustrated I left town and headed to the Currys near where I work (which is a good 15 miles away) and thankfully they had one Surface 2 and one black Type Cover 2 in stock.

All in all I spent 4 hours trying to get hold of the Surface 2 I am typing this post on. As much as the stores were a joke I think Microsoft need to sort this out. Store staff are woefully unknowledgeable about the Surface and their accessories and stock seems very low in many stores (at least in the Liverpool area).

Love my Surface 2 though.

Had a similar experience in a John Lewis in Edinburgh.. a 'Windows' branded employee was clutching a Surface 2. The only one seemingly on the floor. Upon asking him to look at the device (the first time for me) he handed it over and continued chatting to a colleague about some crap. Even my gf, who couldn't give a toss about technology was taken aback at this customer service... or lack of. Poor show. Online with John Lewis was a different matter, stock and a VERY fast shipping experience... and minimal human interaction lol

Just got my #RemixProject prize (32GB Surface 2 with Music Kit) via UPS today! I am totally happy! Also went to the Microsoft Store here in Jacksonville, FL. and bought a Purple Type Cover 2 for it. Currently downloading the firmware update and 41 other updates for it from Windows Update.

I'm also very happy to report that I have NONE of the flaws some people have reported. My volume rocker is nice and solid... and the speakers sound great! (hopefully they still sound good after these updates!)

Sweet! I know the Surface 2's are out of stock everywhere, but the multichannel person at my store says that every other phone call she gets is for a Surface 2. She even memorized the sku for it lol (which is telling, because doesn't give 2 shats about them)

I ordered a surface 2 from Microsoft two nights ago. Was shocked to see it in stock. I took advantage of the buying a surface a getting a touch cover for 49.

It will be here tomorrow just I'm time for my trip on Sunday.


Is the touch cover 2 that much better? I thought they only had black and I really wanted the cyan so I settled with a 1.

Also my last tablet was a iPad mini then the retina, I loved it but I've really been wanting a surface to try out and my brother in law just got the surface rt so it made me a little envious.

I went and played with one at best buy today. Really enjoyed it, I would prefer to get the pro but my wife wouldn't let me unless I sold my Rmbp and I not quite ready to do that.

Now the waiting game begins.

Had mine since late November. Lucky to get one before they went out of stock. With Office, it'll likely replace my 4-year old HP DM3 laptop for most things. Working well with just one minor but still annoying item about the browser. The Modern IE browser could faster on page reloads. It reloads the page on each swipe forward or backward. Hope to see a fix soon. Just purchased a 32 gb micro SD card and looking forward to getting it installed when it arrives.

I have had mine for a couple weeks. I love it. It was so easy to synch. Feels very balanced in hand. I got the magenta touch type 2 cover. A great combo. This is one of my best tech purchases. I have no buyer's remorse. I am so glad to own the Surface 2, it does all that I want a tablet to do plus have the ability to utilize Microsoft Office 2013. Outlook is really nice on the tablet along with Word. I use an Ogio bag to carry my Surface around.
