I read with 8.1 its possible to lock your phone (in a meeting, at night,..) but you can still give some contacts the permission to get through to you (for example with two quick calls). where ist that hidden?

Now restarting after download the 8.1 update. Now begins the stress..

Installed 8.1 on my 620!

I did a hard reset and it started installing something in the gear screen agian, normal?

It was slow so I decided to hard reset, but ti was awesome!

Am I right in thinking that you dont get quiet hours without cortana? I can live with a delay to get Cortana to the UK (I mean, its not like we speak english.....) but I was looking forward to the quiet hours setup...

My region is set to US still cant find cortana! !

set you language to US english too

Setting-> Quiet hours : for locking phone in meeting etc.
Setting-> inner circle : For giving permission to contacts.

Yep, same here. Not getting any error messages, just not connecting to the store.

Check you're email settings, see if they require anything. That's what I had to do to get the store to work, something about it needing to connect to my Microsoft account. Good luck!

Initially i was getting this error. Then came the generic can't connect to the Store message.

guess azure couldn't scale up to the demand.....haha, even the windows phone store website is also down with an error. Try here: Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United Kingdom)
So I guess its not just a problem with us.

Successfully updated my HTC 8XT. It did take about 90 mins to run through both updates, reinstall all the apps, move them over to my SD card, etc. But, its up and running great now!

8.1 installed on my lumia 1520 took 25 mins total for both updates. the 1520 is a speed demon and the scaling is smaller but look hellava better

No option to delete this account. It is my "Microsoft Account" and the only option is to "Sync". Hmmmmm
