I bought a Lumia 520 in UK. The phone is unlocked and I use the phone in Canada with Fido. The problem is that Fido does NOT offer a Windows phone in their line up and I have no hope of getting the Amber update. Is there another way to update my phone?
As a note it is weird that MS will depend on the providers to offer the update and not offer it online themselves or through the phone manufacturer as Apple does.
Your help will be appreciated

Delete the picture/music file on ur phone storage

found a solution. transfer your files first in your desktop, then format sd card. after that import your files again. it will fix the problem.

You can update your phone to vesion 1030.6409.1314.1002
By using Nokia software updater for retail 3.0.8

I have done this update by myself from pc

Hi,today i tried to update my lumia 520 to Amber and after this operation i have some problems: in the first time,when i tried to acces the camera roll,the phone locks.the same problem in main menu.After this problems,I get the factory reset hoping that everything will be fine,but no.Now,my "precious" 520 restarts when i downloaded something from the marketplace.where is the problem?please help me.Sorry for my bad english.

The GDR2 Amber update fixed this bug. So update your phone.

Hello Lumia 520 Friends...this afternoon, 12 Saturday 2013 around 1 PM , I got the update
prompt for Amber and it took almost an hour for the entire operation of downloading, installing and several
power ons .Now my mobile is Amber and all features claimed by Nokia works well. Radio tuning by sweeping the finger
on Frequency scale is really awesome.Double tap is not there and is also not Nokia feature for 520 anyway.

There is. I got my update done by Nokia prompt on 12 October by 1 PM .It is now Amber with all Nokia claimed featured on.

In India, those user who have firmware 1030.6408.1309.0002 can update to amber. I just completed my update successfully using settings->phone update.

I update new Windows on my Nokia Lumia 520. My phone don't recognize my micro SD Card. Before update, I don't try check my micro SD Card.
My micro SD Card is 10 class, 16 GB.

I solved problem.

I back phone on factory settings when the SD Card was on the phone and that's it.
