Official Lumia 920 GDR2/Amber Update Thread

Guys, this really is one of best updates wp8 Lumia devices got so far. I don't know why so many are complaining, wp8 was release less than a year ago, with all the known flaws we decided to buy it BACK then. And now its better than ever. I LOVE the pro camera app. I LOVE it when I hover my hand over the sensor and it shows the time, very neat. FM radio is great to discover local channels when traveling abroad! IE has the option to allow sites to store files on phone now! Music sounds more beautiful through headphones and speaker now! Skype doesn't instantly drain my battery now! And speaking of, battery is lasting more than 12 hours as opposed to 10 from before gdr2! Same usage!

Amber = win.

love the amber and GDR 2 update because of data sense (phone is unbranded and unlocked) and call blocking features. Pro cam is good, but proshot beats it since the latter focuses better and has more ISO options. Huge complaint regarding the FM radio, you can't set it to loud speaker.

From what I've read, if you press and hold on the screen when in FM radio, you can set it to loudspeaker (provided the headphones are plugged in still). Can't confirm this as I'm waiting for EE to release the update though!

I only have 2 issues maybe someone feels the same.

1.I don't like that the glance screen is always on while charging over night. The feeling that the screen is on all night long isn't the best.
2.In settings menu if i try to scroll up or down slowly before it starts to scroll there is a slightly stuttering/chopping. I'm sure this wasn't present before the Amber update.

Did anyone experienced the same with the scrolling issues. Thanks.

That's the point of glance. Its to glance.

Though if you don't want it up all night whilst charging, just flip the phone. Glance turns off when the proximity sensor is blocked.

There was a night setting for Glance, right? I don't know bc I don't have the update yet, thought I read it.

just turn of the glance screen by going in display+touch
no I didn't noticed any choppiness in scrolling

Yes! It's not every time I scroll slowly, but it really does this from time to time. And also when I'm scrolling photos in the picture hub (slowly) it does the same chopping, but even more visible. The quality of the photos themselves is much greater now though.

I think that you have to update Display + touch and Extras & Info.

No one knows for sure. It just isn't ready yet.

It means that Nokia published the update and you will get it as soon as it is approved. Shouldnt take longer than a few days.

But that can't be the answer to turn it of every time you charge your phone over night.
