One Note App - turn on lines by default?

Hi - is there any way to do this? I would like to be able to hit the pen button and have a ruled piece of paper all ready to take notes - by default it gives me a blank page and I need to turn on lines each time

I don't think so.
While the OneNote App is pretty cool, it has few customization options. I played with this on my SP3 and looked online and can't find that option anywhere.

Just FYI, in OneNote 2013 you can turn this on, as well as customize the spacing between the lines.

No, there is not. I just confirmed wtih my husband, the One Note SDET.

thanks. hopefully they can improve this over time. I've also noticed that if you're still locked and you bring up one-note, it defaults to the thin pen.

is there a suggestions page anywhere in MS for one-note as there is for xbox music?

In the Desktop version you can just set page templates. Not sure if they then sync over to the Modern version.

They don't. For all intents-and-purposes the OneNote App and OneNote 2013 are completely separate programs. They don't talk to each other at all except for the normal sync functions. I don't think they even share the same cache which is kinda funny.

I tweeted them - they need to make it so the one note app can have a default pen/paper template for the 'top button' press on the surface pen that opens One-Note (Lite??)

I know I am super late to the party but, I just got a Surface 3 and what loribinca described is really missing! -- Does anyone if there is some sort of difficult-to-find options to change this?

This would be great as default. Could you imagine the advertisements during back today school and hitting the pen and having a note pad with lines at the click! It would sell like hot cakes!

And a little slider to go back and forth, throw in graph paper too.

Yes, OneNote Modern and OneNote 2013 are separate apps. However, anything you do in OneNote 2013 (i.e. set ruled lines for a page) will sync with the Modern Version. In other words, if you set up a page in OneNote 2013 with a template, that will show up with the Modern and (at least) WP versions. I don't know about Android or iOS since I don't use them.

Keep in mind OneNote for desktop (i.e. v2013 and earlier) has been around longer than the Modern version. So, the app level global settings you make in the Modern or 2013 versions that won't sync with each other. Hopefully, this is something Microsoft will look into in future versions.
