Other storage suddenly grew to 8.3gb! I thought this was fixed?

I can't find the thread. But that doesn't answer my question: are you saying that the total amounts of space used reported by both apps is different?

I dunno, dude, I don't have your phone in front of me and I don't know how you use it. All I'm saying is that 8gb of Other storage doesn't just magically pop up; it has to come from somewhere. It's probably a combination of your usage patterns, content you've downloaded, and apps you've installed. If you're not using that data any more - maybe it was temp files from the apps you installed or something - GDR3 should clean it up.

Another, albeit quite rare cause of "other" storage is if you use the phone as a USB drive.

Obvious, yes, but I once had a major jump in other, which puzzled me until I remembered dragging and dropping a bunch of files from my desktop computer.

can you post screenshots of phone storage in settings. (not the nokia's storage check as they dont know what "others" are). maybe we can see where your storage actually went.

I've not seen a phone report such different storage amounts between the two apps. I think there's something seriously wrong with his phone.

The only time I see my "other" storage grow is when I download content within an app (ex. downloading video in metro tube)

My "other" storage on my 920 has never been larger than around 1GB. At the moment, it's at 983MB. I always notice it creeping up when I take pictures and that's just about it.

I don't want to think so but believe me dude that's exactly what is on my phone no mistakes I'll take more screen shots as I've done before . I don't want to hard reset my phone so believe me I've been searching for a fix for a long time

I think something is horked. I think a hard reset is your only option at this point.

Well, you could just live with the phantom 10gb, that is an option. It's just a sucky option.

I looked at mine yesterday and it is 3.9 gigs, which seems ridiculously high. I use VBA8 A LOT and I constantly save states on numerous games. I would wager all of my saves probably end up in OTHER. I Will test this by uploading the save states I use to SkyDrive and deleting the app to see if frees up some storage

Update, the save states from vba8 are definitely part of app data. I am at a loss...
