Person of interest thread

Re: Person of intrest thread

That is correct Dave... and to further expand on blog comments...

It is NOT our job to moderate the comments. All we have permission to do is squash SPAM. That's it.

I know from time to time a heated or inappropriate comment may catch your eye in the comments... but please, just leave it be. Taking ANY moderator action against a member in the blog comments opens up a new can of worms. And in the end (unfortunately) it makes a LOT of work for our editors and EIC's on the other end.

Squash blog comment spam, that's it. End of story.

Re: Person of intrest thread

I sent a Twitter DM to Sam last night re the racist comments, and he took care of it.

I'd suggest using Twitter DM to contact writers when stuff like that happens and then they can handle it.

I had to edit the post, because of him openly bashing Rockstarzzz saying that obviously he has a problem with posting in the L920 thread.. Have not yet sent an official warning, just a thread-based warning. We'll need to keep an eye on him.
I remember him from CB, but he sort of dropped off about a year ago. He was pretty active on CB when I first joined there.

He tends to be pretty blunt. I've linked a few CB posts I've found, since I just searched his post history on CB as that's where he's been most active in the past. I believe he is or was an AT&T rep, since he mentions a lot of things that sound that way. He also could be an ex-AT&T rep, since I doubt they'd keep around someone who talks to customers they way he posts on the forums.

Re: Person of intrest thread

Out of interest (might be the dumbest thing ever but..) how do you view user's posts across the sister sites? I tried to see this for a few members before deleting their threads or considering them as spam just to make sure it was a trend on other sites too but I am restricted on WPCentral posts only. It's meant to be like that right?

Hover your mouse over their profile picture and click on the profile picture. Then click on the icon in the profile for the other sites they're on. The very first icon at the left with the cartoon bubble is their posts on that forum. Click on it, and you'll see their posts.

Here's you on CB.

Alas, we have a new person of interest. I swear this is like my favorite thread back here. Anyway a thread based warning counts as an official warning.

I imagine that he's on the ignore list of lots of people there because no one responds to him.

I've always wondered why all the moderator options appear under Firefox/Chrome but not under IE10.

Yeah, it's a ballache for me too. I don't even have FireFox installed on my desktop PC. I have IE10. Exclusively.

As a result, I get this...

Re: Person of intrest thread

I wouldn't know about IE, since I never use it. I pretty much quit using IE about 5 years ago. I have it installed mainly to troubleshoot forum members issues, but I haven't tried it at all for about a month.

Re: Person of intrest thread

Laura, thanks for posting those screen shots. I saw a pic like that over in the mobile nation mods forum. But figured it was a feature they were working on or tweaking something. Never considered it was in place and a browser issue. Hopefully they'll get a IE10 fix.

You're welcome. I just don't use IE, since I like the Firefox add-ons (Adblock, Ghostery, Request Policy), which had nothing to do with the forums per se.

Re: Person of intrest thread

Just perm banned hiiiiiiiii after the post he made in the 928 thread about 100 black anaconda men. Totally unacceptable.

Seems like the only thing he does is attack Microsoft.

An IP search shows four different IPs but they're all the same name.
Probably DHCP.

On a related note, when I had AT&T as my ISP, a friend with Verizon never got my emails. Verizon kept flagging my IP as spam. I kept whitelisting each IP. It became a running joke how many IPs I had left to whitelist with Verizon, especially since I was taking a networking class at the time.

Kindly informed omniusovermind to remove the image from his signature.

Re: Person of intrest thread

I present to you EDIT: andrAEseus - who spells like that! :P Sorry!

I went through his posts after I came across couple of them - he hates his phone, it's easy to know. But does he even have that phone? I don't know. He hasn't said anything that will make him a troll, but he hasn't said anything that won't make me suspicious either.
