Person of interest thread

Re: Person of intrest thread

They are not connected as far as I can tell. We can ask James but I think you can be banned from the forum and still post on the front blog page

Re: Person of intrest thread

Asked in the campfire chat this morning. They are two separate things. Eventually a PP ban should take care of both. Or at least that's what they say the vision is.

That's what I thought. I had not asked lately so I was not 100% sure. Good to know the answer

Re: Person of intrest thread

Also verifies what's going on with onedrummer. Glad eric picked up on that and I'll file it away for future reference.

Re: Person of intrest thread

Rock already deleted the thread but I can still send him a PM if you like.

Thanks for noticing that. I deleted that thread without having a read of what was being discussed here. I hope no one is mad at me! I haven't PM'd him though, so if anyone else has, please continue with what's being done.

Re: Person of intrest thread

OneDrummer is a little reversed, he was banned from the front page (most likely by Paul Acevedo) due to his harsh criticism in the comment section on his articles.

Re: Person of intrest thread

At least now we know what it takes to get banned there!

I need to be careful! :P
Daniel and I had a little bit of Tango in one of his article ;)

Re: Person of intrest thread

That guy was a total dill wad to Paul I don't blame them for banning him from the blog he is obviously predigest when it come to Paul. That's totally unacceptable if any of you guys do something on the blog like that it will transfer to consequences here. Daniel loves to have spirited confrontations that alone won't get you banned. I am sure he appreciates anyone who intelligently debates any topic. Its the flat out writer bias and continued attacks that got that dill wad banned.

The only reason he is still a member of the forum is because of his intelligent understand replies to our PM conversation after I closed his I hate Paul thread.

Re: Person of intrest thread

It's easy enough to just not read blogs by a particular writer if one dislikes how he writes. This isn't high school or university where people are forced to read stuff for classes.

Re: Person of intrest thread

Yeah, I have no problems with any of the writers and if I did, I would highlight my concerns to them in a MATURE manner. Approach it maturely and people are more likely to work with you to come to a resolution.

Re: Person of intrest thread

As long as I'm a mod, I'll only give a generic, politically correct statement in the forums and blogs. In here between us, a bit more honest. I know the site revolves around the writers and blogs. At the risk of getting in trouble, I'll say I wish they would extend us a little courtesy at times regarding the forums. Some leave the impression we are a necessary evil.

I do my part to promote by retweeting links to blog posts, even if I don't necessarily like the post (heck, most of the time I'll just retweet the link without even reading the danged blog post!).

Re: Person of intrest thread

There are some bloggers and blog posts I do like. I've also used Twitter to personally interact when I've read something I liked. I've had some nice chats with George and Sam. I really like George's stuff, since I am into photography and George is an expert photographer.

I also once emailed a link to a blog post written by Rich. The person I sent it to is a teacher. My friend commented that most bloggers on tech sites are terrible writers, since their blog posts are usually full of grammatical and punctuation errors; however, he found Rich's blog post to be of such high quality that Rich could be a journalist for a traditional newspaper.

Re: Person of intrest thread

I don't do games much so I really wouldn't know about Paul's writing. But I do think Rich, George, Sam and Daniel do a very good job of getting stuff out there every day. And for being a big proponent of WP, Daniel will also call out any faults in his blog. It's not all sunshine and lollipops. The others are pretty even handed as well.

Yea he was and I even mentioned that in his thread, he's lucky it hasn't been closed yet. Though I will admit that it has been a good laugh. As for the blog I usually just read the articles and rarely comment or read the comments because the comments can get pretty bad over there. It's like a totally different site out there. All the members conduct themselves far differently out there than they do in the forums.
