Person of interest thread

Re: Person of intrest thread

I may have to call Laura a name if she keeps saying RT=fail. Don't worry, I'll issue myself a warning if I do!
I just don't see what niche RT would fill once the new Haswell and Bay Trail processors are out. The current advantage of RT is power consumption, but it's lacking the powerful x86 software. Once the new processors allow for better battery life and also run the x86 software, I don't see why anyone would opt for RT instead of Win8.

Re: Person of intrest thread

I was picking on you. I like my RT and have posted about my experiences with it. But I know it's not for everyone. If they would lower the price I do think there is a niche and market for it.

I know. I'm not offended.

That's a good point. I just question if people would want it even at a lower price because Windows has been around for such a long time that I'm kind of convinced that just about everyone has legacy software and expects legacy software and powerful performance from anything with the Windows name on it.

Re: Person of intrest thread

I think the idea was that RT devices would be cheaper. I remember manufactures stating that RT tablets would launch at $200 dollars. Needless to say, that's not even close to what we got. I only took the plunge because I'm a multi-billionaire that only pretends to be poor as a hobby, but the entry level price for a RT tablet is still too high.

?400 Haswell/Bay Trail tablet with an active stylus? I might actually go all over that. Would be nice if it had a smartcard reader too.

Re: Person of intrest thread

Just to drag this off topic - I have stopped receiving notifications for posts awaiting moderation and such! I don't get emails at all. I only realized it when for past 1 week, my inbox received nothing being done by any mods, nothing being flagged! - Dave what did you do? :P

Re: Person of intrest thread

Infracted ammarmalik for trolling. Awaiting the onslaught.

Re: Person of intrest thread

Thanks, I was going to after that post and I got derailed. You might want to be ready to send him the quote from the forum rules about mods if he replies in a less than nice manner.

Re: Person of intrest thread

Explosive has been on my list ever since he started posting in the forums. Just haven't been able to get a lock on anything. Really sick of ammarmalik.

Re: Person of intrest thread

Just to let everyone know.

http://forums.windowscentral.com/members/ammarmalik2011.htm is officially on a 3 day vacation. This is his second ban he had a 7 day ban before the points system. I am debating if we need to accelerate his infraction scenario when he returns. He just doesn't get it at all. I am thinking he can not be reformed. He doesn't seam to want to change.

Looks like the boss took care of it. I was stuck on a remote connection trying to clean a virus off a shipping department computer.
