Pictures + Videos Taken With My Lumia 950 XL

When taking a picture with Windows Camera not all the pictures get saved with the location info... Even though I have it enabled.... Has anyone else noticed?

I like the colours and the crispyness, but the jumping of focus seems to be quiet evident. is this something that can be done as I have got a 950xl on pre-order and not sure if I like this jumping focus problem

Manual is always an option. But it may be too much work for simple videos. I haven't noticed this issue myself. I plan on doing a 1:1:1 comparison between the 950XL, the OnePlus 2, and a Blackmagic 4K (for reference) sometime this week. I'll have better responses then.

Keep in mind if you are not watching the video at its highest resolution on a monitor that supports it, you are seeing a compressed version of the video, and YouTube's compression algorithms aren't the best in the world.

So if I recorded in 1080P is the quality going to be poor or good? I have no need to record in 4k not about to jump on the 4k TV band wagon any time soon.

The 1080p quality has been pretty good for a phone in the videos I've seen. There's a pronounced 'jello' from the rolling shutter if you do fast panning. But all phones have that. What's concerning to me is most videos I've seen have a very active autofocus...to the point of causing the video to jitter and twitch. Again, not sure until I get it side by side. But overall, it's at least higher than average for a phone camera. And at 1080 it'll be better than 4K as you'll get better video stabilization from the algorithm. Everything I've seen so far makes me think I won't be shooting in 4K on this at all, even if I need to reframe.

Playing around with Lightroom's sliders lol.
As far video is concerned, if I'm feeling creative, I use all manual settings, but i still shoot in 4k so I can get a higher bitrate (unless there's a way to do it with our phone in 1080p)

I should've cleaned my car to get an even better reflection...

Anyone tried a video with camera update, I hear photos focus better but what about videos.

Few days ago the XL I tried had crazy auto focus, anything near was horrible to watch.

Dramatic improvement in video after camera update.no more focus hunting.
Autofocus is now fast and accurate...perfect

Barrage of low light photos coming up :excited: I'm very happy how this camera performs in low light. Rich capture is not recommended in these situations. It pretty much overexposes every time and quite lot of noise too. If you want to shoot auto mode disable rich capture and use exposure setting to adjust brightness. Manual ISO though i highly recommend.

There is hand held shots with auto and manual settings and full manual with my high tech tripod (piece of foam with groove carved in to it) haha... works brilliantly :wink:

They should make the camera a universal app so you can wirelessly connect to a tablet, use the phone as a camera, use the tablet as an HD viewfinder to allow better manual focus. So hard to nail on a small screen...

I know it works with Continuum. Not sure about connecting to another computer, though.
