My comparison shot between iphone4, 920 @ 4:3 and 920 @ 16:9 aspect ratio. All phones were copied off the respect phone and then manually uploaded to skydrive with no compression.

Iphone4:

Lumia920 4:3 Aspect Ratio:

Lumia920 16:9 Aspect Ratio:

This wasn't the best test, but it was a quick one. At original size, the iphone looks better to me than both of the Lumia920 shots.

The sky in the 920 pictures look better to me - the iPhone is just a glare in the top left corner. Overall though, the 920 pictures aren't significantly better; With the 920 being TWO YEARS NEWER and the "best camera phone" on the market, pictures should be SIGNIFICANTLY better on it.

Does anyone have both a 920 and an iPhone 5 handy to compare shots?

for me, if I look just past the car at the grass on the 920 pictures, it looks like someone went crazy with the noise reduction and blur tool. With the iphone, it looks WAY better, like you can actually make out that its grass (and dirt), rather than just a greenish/brownish smudge like in the 920 pics.

Can't believe that these are Lumia pictures. They look much better than everything I could get out of the camera. What did you do to them in post processing? I'm using Lightroom but couldn't find settings matching yours ; (

Thanks, Arnheim

macro pictures are fine on the Lumia. Shots taken relatively close look pretty good, but the shots of say, outdoor scenery, are the worst in my opinion when shot from any considerable distance (more than 20 feet).

I posted a couple of macro pics a few pages back and I was decently happy with them.

Mhhh, I've already assumed that, do you know how that comes I mean technically?

Its shots like these that give me hope, you can tell that the 920 has a superb camera because of the high dynamic range and IMO great color reproduction, It's just limited by some screwy software at the moment. I hope that Nokia can get this sorted out quickly, if I were them I'd make fixing this priority numero uno! :D

I used Creative Studio to edit the pics. You can download it from the app store.

I'm not sure if this has already been said, but even when saving pictures to SkyDrive in the original format, they still look much better on your computer than when viewing in SkyDrive.

Something is definitely being lost in translation. Pictures look best on my phone (not just because of the screen).. then as pictures/files saved on my computer.. then least as good when viewing directly from SkyDrive. What's going on?

Also, the mild bluryness I see in the pictures on my computer is NOT present when viewing the pictures on my phone.

I'm seeing at least some decent photos on here, but my camera is taking horrible pictures no matter what the lighting situation is. Are others having issues no matter low light or lots of natural light? I double checked that I didn't have protective film on the lens and cleaned any smudges from it. It just won't take a crisp image, text is blurry on objects no matter how close or far and I tried the different settings, let it focus and lighting combinations. I took pictures of my city's landscape today that were blurry, but I knew that was expected with the daylight issue. I'm thinking my camera may be completely faulty. Attached is picture I tried to focus on a candle in front of me (this is one of the worst ones).
