Hi everyone!

So I connect my phone to my car speakers/stereo via Bluetooth in order to pick up/make calls and have it read text messages to me while I'm driving. The one thing that I can't get it to do though, is play music to my car speakers from my phone. My phone will be connected to my car via Bluetooth, but when I play my music it plays from the phone speaker. Is there a hidden setting or something on my phone or is it my car?

I have a Nokia Lumia 925 and I drive a Nissan Maxima 2007.

If it uses Microsoft sync you have to go hit the aux button hit menu and got to source and then select Bluetooth audio (it is a hassle I know but that's how it works)

I play music like this in Toyota Yaris 2012. You need to select the correct source for audio. It's "BT Audio" for me.

I think people forgot to ask if your car stereo has BT audio profile or not. Just because your stereo has BT does not mean you can play music on it. It might be that it can only be used for calls/texts.

Nissan in '07 had bluetooth capability? Is it an aftermarket radio (if so, what is it?).
If it is a factory one, A2DP (stereo bluetooth: Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) wasn't common at that time, and your car may only support voice/text. Otherwise look for a BT Audio source in your sources list.

If it's anything like my Nissan Maxima 2011 - then the BT Music profile is an optional extra that comes with the navigation system...

I ended up getting one of these, and keep it hooked up in the glove box (beside the AUX inputs)

Amazon.com: New Potato Technologies TuneLink Auto Bluetooth in Car Stereo Wireless Adapter for Android (Black) - 1001-01002D: Cell Phones & Accessories

The BT Voice profile connects to the car, and the BT Music profile connects to the TuneLink (at the same time)... It works well, and was a damned sight cheaper than paying $2000 for the nav option
