Posts awaiting moderation - what changed?

How come I've been seeing these posts increasing in the queue? I've got about 8 posts that need moderation and don't see anything that is wrong with them. Are these the posts reported by someone or flagged by one of us in the team who wants others to review their moderation? Have I missed out on something?

These are usually posts by new members, sometimes they need to be approved by a mod before they're actually posted into the threads. The feature was removed at first when the site got redesigned but now has recently returned.

It comes as a notification where you get notified for likes and thanks.

Dave tweaked it up due to escort spammers.

I'm tweeking it guys trying to keep the escort spammers in check. Its going to be a bit rough this week. Just get to them as quick as you can so people don't get upset that their posts are getting sent to the cue.

This keeps the forum clean but yes it does have a good clean up every time you log in. How I wish Jay made an app for admins and mods with all these functions available!

How about adding them to the original app but just make it so that they don't appear unless you're a mod?

Does anyone know how many posts are needed for moderation to stop? I had a poster ask me today why his posts needed approval. Told him it was due to spam settings and post count. He was nice about it, but it would've been nice to give a definite post count answer.

The answer is 10. After 10 posts members are exempt from moderation. I upped it from 5 to 10 because the Escort spammers were posting 6 to 8 threads at a time this would pull them out of moderation.

Is it possible to moderate new posters based on IP? The only significant spam has been from Indian IP addresses.

While we are on IP thing, why is it that only a few handful users have their IP address under their name whereas most of them don't have any IP address?
