Based upon Alexa's rankings, WPCentral's audience tends to be younger.

It would probably help keep younger people interested in the site (and Windows Phone) if there were younger Ambassadors. Plus, if these young folks stay with the site and the platform that will only help with growth, marketshare, and the whole issue with apps.

If we go by this I might as well just resign now. Obviously my age serves no purpose here. I think the main thing being overlooked is we need good ambassadors. Ones that will answer questions, write guides and stay involved. Not sign up to get a box under their name and just say hello to new members. They need to help out the three or so ambassadors that are doing their job and not go silent every time Dave posts a thread looking for articles or help.

+1

LOL! Who would you rather take electrical advice from? A 30+ year IBEW Union Electrician like myself or a a mature 14 year old that's done some reading and little electrical work in his house?

Well that situation is different.

I realize I exaggerated. I just think we should stay away from minors. What if someone in the Ambassador program mentioned NSFW pictures and the under 18 Ambassador said to his mother, what does NSFW mean? and she says where are reading that? The WPC Ambassador forum.

Like I mentioned to Dave, I think he should talk to MN about using minors.

Just my 2 cents.

That's a bit exaggerated too because for the most part alot of the meanings of those acronyms can easily be found with a Bing search.

I guess one of my hopes for the Ambassadors group is for it to be WP enthusiousts who are willing to be contributers. I don't expect this to be a professional representation of WPC. that is the job of this team. I like to think of Ambassadors as the group that uses the devices and are willing to offer their inpot while they learn. I don't expect the Ambassadors team to be 100% in the know. If I expected that I would raise the required post count over 500.

This is a volunteer group so child labor laws wont apply. As for who you get advice from... I don't expect Ambassadors to be the 30+ year IBEW Union Electrician what I expect them to be is enthusiastic volunteers willing to help and learn.

I still think we need to put some type of age limit on it. I feel 18 is unrealistic. The group would be missing 3-5 already. We do need to gauge a level of maturity on an individual basis.

Age range: they have to act 18 (so if they're 14 but are so mature they act 21 then sweet).
Min post: I think we should raise this to 250. If we were wanting them to be 100% in the know I would set the min post count to 10'000.

So back to the original topic. What's the decision on rdubmu?

I am bringing him back in we just cant afford to pass on someone who is that dedicated to this website. For the record he is 30 years old. He should be set up later tonight.
