I put my 1020 back to 8.1 to get back the quality apps like here, and the nokia photo app. My phone takes way better photos on 8.1 and I have been told the nav is much better too! upcoming trips are going to take advantage of the camera and navigation duties of the phone.

I did not trust 10 until I get an official update from windows/at&t.

I personally think ms is pathetic. My HTC one m8 is superior or on par with iPhone 6 and ipod latest generation, but software, apps are so much more polished on ios

I disagree, I think my apps on my 1020 and the phone itself is miles ahead of apples junk. At this time, w10 mobile is not ready for primetime on the 1020. 8.1 is polished and works smooth, fluid and the camera works as it should. The best in the biz. Yes, the new cameras from samesong and crapple are faster and have gimmicks, but for all out photography using your phone, NOTHING touches the 1020.....NOTHING. Plus, the here drive app is better than any stand alone gps unit I have used.

Well after a day of useage back on 8.1 the phone is much better. fast, efficient, camera and nav work the bees knees, where as on w10, low res photos, slow nav, and overall useage. If my 1020 does not get w10, I won't be too upset, besides the fact of the apps that are going to come once 10 gets going. As is for right now, 8.1 is much better with the 1020.

I would love to roll my 1020 back to 8.1 but is no longer recognized when connected to pc via usb. I cannot get beyond "no descriptor" error. Have tried changing cables, installing drivers, updating Windows Device Recovery Tool etc but nothing will get the camera read.

There's no way I'm risking my 1020 on any preview build.
The L1020 I have is great where it is right now.

I see absolutely no reason to trash an older yet super sweet device with a crappy unstable update like Windows 10 mobile in it's current form.
Could be wrong as I usually am, yet I don't see Microsoft caring much for the users of the Lumia 1020.
It's all about the future even though the 808/1020 is/was a monarch of mobile photography.

I love our 1020s. I was running 10, but both the camera and here drive etc were missing and that was a deal breaker. At least I know my phone is going to do what I want it to do. now, if I could only get living images working.
