I have always been an advocate for the Windows Mobile/Phone platform but my patience is wearing thin the more I use Windows Phone 8.x and Windows 10. I gave Android a real good look this past year and defended Windows Phone for as long as I can remember. I recently took over my ex-wife's HTC One M8 for Windows and while the experience wasn't the end of the world, to simply put my ring and alert tones on the device; my God, this is ridiculous. What is so hard about plugging the phone via USB to a computer and File Explorer view it as a drive? For Christ's sake, Android doesn't have a problem being seen by a Windows computer, but did anybody at Microsoft Central think about how Windows 10 would interact with their Windows Phone platform? Ringtone Maker...problem solved? Sure, if the file isn't too big; it's cake, but what if it isn't. Text message! I like that one. And how big are those? It drives me nuts the lack of common sense developers put into their hardware. All I want is my ringtone; that's it. Who in God's name uses the one on the phone to begin with? Never have I been more aggravated than I am now. After all Android has the Launcher 8 app and the best part about those tiles is you can bind any app you want to them. What I miss most about the old days is customization; a phone that can be personalized and not be pasted with all white outlines like the notification bar; what I would kill to be able to add some color to it.
