setting up Surface 4 laptop with wide screen monitor

Have a new Surface Laptop, with Intel Iris Xe grpahics card. Tried to set up with my Acer 38" curved monitor, to no avail. I could not get a full screen with creating a stretched out image on the "max available" resolution of 1920 x 1080. Previous laptop was a Thinkpad 470 with the intel HD graphics card. With that I was able to set the resolution to 3840x1600 @ 30Hz. This worked great until the laptop started to fail. Now with the Surface 4, I am at whits end trying to get this corrected. Currently using a smaller Samsung 34", that at least allows full screen, but still with stretched distortion and washed out images. ON the old laptop, I was able to install the Intel HD Graphics Utility to set the optional resolution. I see no such tool for the Xe.

Dear, I understand your problem which I know is really annoying for you. Seems you tried many workarounds and finding some more utility to be tried for fixing this, but I suggest for direct support from "Acer" on their support page to get things fix easily.
