Shipping early?

They just announced a push back of 10 days to the 30th. There's also some contradictory stories saying it only applies to new orders not pre-existing orders. Definitely no early shipping :eck:

Existing orders still say "ships by 6/20" - pretty sure that the push back is ONLY for new orders going into the system, indicating that they have exhausted the initial supply of units.

Where is this "announced?" I don't see anything about this on social media or their site.
 
The 30th is for new orders of the 128gb version. Wpcentral reported it. Look it up. Don't spread the wrong information.
 
Yessss just got a charge! Also my order was changed on 6/15 cause I decided on the i5/256 instead of 128 at the last minute. So don't worry anyone who got in a little late.

Sounds promising, as I had to reorder on 6/16 due to a system screwup - hoping to see a shipping notification tomorrow!
 
Just chiming in with my charge. Ordered an i5/128GB model on June 2nd and it is shipping to northeastern PA.

Also had to cancel my original order made on May 21st as I moved and needed to change the address. Either here or on the Surface subreddit someone mentioned that they were charged twice despite cancelling their order. So far, I only see one charge.

Let's hope tomorrow is the day for tracking numbers! Also, anyone who ordered the SP2: Did Microsoft require your shipper to get a signature? I live relatively close to both UPS and FedEx distribution centers for my area so I can pickup missed packages, but it would be nice to just have it when I get home.

I did not have to supply a signature for the SP2.

I checked my account and there is a hold on my credit card for the surface pro 3 and my red type cover. I also originally ordered the 128gb surface pro 3 in minutes of the pre orders opening up. About a week and half ago I changed my mind and ordered the i5 256gb. So excited looks like we should get it on Friday folks 😉
 
Just checked my credit card account online, and it today it added the Surface and Type cover orders on the card as 'Pending'.

everyone, it is very simple: anyone who ordered prior to 5 pm PST 16-June, WILL get their SP3 ON Friday (20-June). I am told we are still within the window for billing and shipping notifications, so we (including me) got to be a bit more patient. For the rest, it will be 30-June. Simple. Period. Source: only one knowledgeable manager that I happened to speak to after several uninformed and misguided reps.
 
My order was just cancelled! Not cool!

Same thing happened to my brother. He called and had to get a new order. We changed cards as well. The customer service rep assured us it would ship the same time as before on 6/20. Not sure if I believe him. Checked the new order history says 6/20.

I got an email as well earlier today to update my info on credit card because it didn't go thru. So I changed cards. I still have the same order and ship date of 6/20. It will be a miracle if my brother and I get our surfaces Friday. So frustrated.

This may be what happened to my order as well in fact. Order was cancelled out of the blue, so I called in to replace the order that night - next morning I got an email informing me of a credit card authorization issue. Called the credit card company, updated my info on MS Store, and it's showing as "In Process" now (although the website timed out after I updated my info, but I guess it managed to go through nonetheless). They really need to work out a better way of doing this than just cancelling orders with credit card issues without providing any reason nor way to remedy the issue. After this mess I'm going to be really irritated if I don't have my device on Friday - for $1500, you'd expect some decent service at least.

Well that's just it. My order had issues with authorization. It just told me to update the info or change payment method. Why did it cancel your's and my brother's when it had the same problem? It doesn't make sense. It also never makes sense to automatically cancel someone's order without notifying them before it is cancelled.

Yeah I had the same issue and just got an email for them to update the card. My bank flagged it and I had to tell them it was OK and then I just updated Microsoft with the same card. The email said if I didn't do it within a certain time it would cancel. That's weird that some people's just canceled. It also said my card was authorized for the full amount and that it wouldn't be charged until it shipped and I would receive and email with the tracking info.

Ouch, that's brutal. They really need to find a better way of doing this, like putting a hold on the money immediately when you pre-order. That way, if the card doesn't go through, you can address it right away. If I don't have a shipping notification by the end of tomorrow, I might just call in and let a supervisor know that their system is screwing over a lot of customers. Out of curiosity, which model did you order?
