I was looking up ways to get better scrolling in Chrome when I stumbled across this old Windows Central article.

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-enable-smooth-scrolling-google-chrome-surface

Like the instructions suggested, I enabled smooth scroll in chrome://flags/ but didn't get the results I wanted so I installed the SmoothScroll extension. Surprisingly enough, it works well. Google sites are still a little jerky, and the level of smoothness still can't compare to Edge. Still, it's a massive upgrade to the default settings. Plus it's insanely easy to do. I started off with the iPhone pre-set but I'm sure I'll experiment.

Re: "Smooth" touch scrolling in Chrome

I should add that I use uBlock Origin to help eliminate other elements that slow down browsing. Particularly the "ignore generic cosmetic filters" has been really helpful. Buuuuuut.... even with all that, certain image heavy sites still can't be salvaged. :(
