So, officially we can save Apps on SD CARD right?

Sure, please take out the SDCard and put it into your PC's card reader slot. Access the SD Card by plugging the phone into your PC will not work.

In File explorer, go to View -> Options, select View tab, check "Show hidden files" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".

Now browse to the SD Card, go to WPSystem\Apps. You will see many folders with names like this {2F1206C9-D17B-457A-A91E-7497DA705B68}. Go to one of those folders and go to "Install" subfolder. If you can go there, it means nothing is protected. If you got error message, please tell me what it is.

Hey! What about .appx Extension of Apps??? If it happens, then what should we do with Already installed apps (with .xap) ???

I am interested in how "Battery sense" works.
Can you see what apps are draining your battery the most?
Or is it just an API feature enabling devs to create such apps?

subbing out images is least of the problem, it is quite easy to reverse engineer your .dll to remove the check for trial, premium features or remove ads.

I would not get my hope up too high. MS said the apps are encrypted to prevent users from copying the apps' content to another user's SD Card. No one ever expects piracy can be done that easily. What you do is to repack the files as a fresh xap and either sideload it or upload it as a beta app. Let's wait and see though.

Oh, your able to fully view it. Interesting. Could you CTL+A and copy all those files to a ZIP, then rename it to XAP and side load it, Does it install? any errors?

He might have a earlier beta version before they added encryption. If not, it would be too easy to pirate software on Windows Phone. This WOULD cause about 90% of the devs to disable this feature on their apps making the "Install to SD" option worthless. Devs should be able to protect their apps, and if MS is not doing anything on this side, it could be a major problem.

I watched it, your right, very good news from a dev aspect. I hope it's not easily cracked, You know the moment it's released, hacker will attempt to hit on it.....

just catching back up on this thread, I was assuming the dlls and such would be checked on app launch for things like removing trials as I use the store API for that, but yes they could write out my check entirely if these are accessible.
 
?Apps on SD Cards are only allowed from ONE originating phone. If it detects that apps from another phone are installed on the SD Card, then it will ask to delete those first

Which in turn makes this feature completely useless to me. =/ Why don't they make it so app data binds to your Microsoft Account rather than the device, like on Xbox? Would make so much more sense.

Luckily the majority of games I play support cloud saves so I don't lose all my progress when I eventually upgrade my phone, but even so...
