Well that sux, I wonder why even have a pre-order so soon if only to release it several months in the future. Thanks for the information though.August 31
I wish that Microsoft can match Apple's hardware distribution one day.

You're assuming they won't sell out. Pre order means you will get one.So... I'm confused. There is a pre-order for SP3. I want the i7 but refuse to wait until August. If I pre-order the i5, is there any advantage to a pre-order vs. walking into the store and buying it? Do pre-orders ship any sooner than brick and mortar?
I'm tossing up the idea of selling my SP2 128 with TypeCover 2, my HP dv6t-se with i7, 8GB RAM, 1 TB Hard drive, Blu-Ray Burner, and touchscreen, and finding what else I can sell in order to get an i5 128 SP3 with TypeCover.
Ok, I gotta stop reading this forum... because you all are weakening my resolve. I know it's not wise to buy the current SP3 (but hold out for SP4 or mid-stream SP3 update)... but, but... :grin:I'm tossing up the idea of selling my SP2 128 with TypeCover 2, my HP dv6t-se with i7, 8GB RAM, 1 TB Hard drive, Blu-Ray Burner, and touchscreen, and finding what else I can sell in order to get an i5 128 SP3 with TypeCover.

You can sell that DSLR and Lens you've got in your avatar. I'm sure you'd be able to get a few SP3's for that.
LOL - it's not worth (at least I doubt) what you'd think. The dv6t is four years old, though there isn't anything really wrong with it. I did buy the highest-end model they made at the time, though - backlit keyboard, fingerprint scanner, 8GB, Blu-Ray burner (the hard drive was enlarged later), and the touch screen. Yeah, it's probably worth more than I'm estimating in my head, now that I think about it.By the sound of it, with all that stuff you could afford the i5 8GB model and I would be jealous.
If you're looking for a site that helps to build your resolve to NOT buy a new computer, you're in the wrong place! :wink:Ok, I gotta stop reading this forum... because you all are weakening my resolve. No. My equipment is several years old, so not worth near what I paid for it. And I'm not getting rid of it. :winktongue:You can sell that DSLR and Lens you've got in your avatar. I'm sure you'd be able to get a few SP3's for that.
I wish. I don't think I've ever made a dime on my photography. I hate doing weddings. I've done several but only for friends who couldn't afford a real photog. I just use the camera for my own enjoyment. Not as much as I used to, but I love it when I get the chance to use it.Or better yet, just get a couple extra photography gigs to pay for it. No sense in going crazy!!

It's all fun and games until someone loses a kidney. :wink:There's an idea!
Oh - and hey - Veterans - make sure you show that you are a vet. Microsoft store offers a 10% discount, and I'm pretty sure it applies to the Surface products (I could be wrong - they don't give the discount for all products they sell).
Yes, you're right. I was mistaken. Took me a while to find a link, but I posted one for the military discount as well as student discount. Military and vets get 5% on PCs and Surface, 10% on everything else. Students get 10% on all. I qualify for either, but it bugs me that students get more than gets.I think I read somewhere it's 5% for veterans on Surface and 10% on accessories. Nothing to sneeze at!
