Software or Hardware problem?

I've had my Lumia 920 since released in the UK. I have had a fair few problems with the device but the recent exchange I got from Nokia seems to be working great.

I've only noticed one problem which is the NFC. It seems to work and then randomly stop until I turn off the phone and turn it back on. Is anybody else experiencing this problem? Will the new unreleased update fix this? (I'm currently on Portico)

How are you using the NFC and do you mean for charging only?

Sorry for not clarifying it's not for charging. It's when I send files from my phone to my brothers Lumia 620. It works for a while and then stops working until I turn off the device and turn it back on.
