SP4 screen auto-adjusts brightness even after I disabled the feature.

I unchecked the box on the display settings page that says "Change brightness automatically when lighting changes," and yet it continues to change itself. It bothers me quite a bit.

Does anyone know why this happens or how to prevent it?

what OS version are you on? check for updates, especially for firmware

It's version 1511. I always keep it up to date, but never on Insider builds.

I've got a weird idea: what if you cover the light sensor? So thyat it thinks it's dark and hence keeps brightness low and then you adjust accordingly?

I believe that would be one solution...
But I wonder why this is a problem at all.

actually, try it out, if the brightness still fluctuates, it could be an issue with software - if not, then the sensor could be faulty
