Suddenly unlocking phone is really slow

I'm using a Lumia 1020, so i have the preview for developers of Windows 8.1. Just a couple days ago my phone started saying "resuming..." for like five seconds before even showing my lock screen picture. Super annoying at work. What can i do to try and remedy this? IDK if this matters but i tried the live lock screen beta and thought it was crap and deleted it.

That's one of its little beta niggles unfortunately. There is a fix though, but don't ask how or why it works: turn on kids corner and turn it off again.

What a brilliant solution! It may sound weird, but it really is a quick fix!

LIke I say, don't ask how or why it works, but that's the official fix for it until it's resolved in a later revision.

There was an article about it on here recently, documenting the issue and the fix that was found.
