I think we should require all pictures that are posted of items for sale or trade have the picture taken next to a 3"x5" card that says WPCentral Buy, Sell, Trade Forum. It would help stop people from grabbing any image of an item off the internet.

Just a thought.

I like that idea. It's a bit of an added inconvenience for sellers but it's great piece of mind for potential buyers and helps to keep everyone honest.

I've seen it as a requirement in a couple of other forums. Dave had a guy this morning that posted just a standard picture of a 920. It wasn't the one he was selling.

Sounds good but I do have one reservation. We need to wait till we start to get more traffic in there. People barley post with the requirements we have. Is it really a good idea to add more restrictions now? What do you guys think?

I don't think barter forum needs a lot of traffic/page hits like other forums or the WPCentral main page. Barter is not really about drawing interest to WPCentral, it's more about providing a place where buyers/sellers can go in lieu of eBay/Craigslist.

I would be more in favor of anything that helps prevent fraud, and more restrictions would mean less chance of fraud.

Less chance of fraud would also benefit WPCentral in the long run, since people might be turned off the site if they got ripped off, but have a favorable opinion of the site if they had a positive experience.

Great idea, but all I think that would be needed would be their username and date.

That may be a better idea. We have time to think about it.

Also, a PC forum I use to belong to encouraged people to use Heatware as a rating site where users of forums (message boards) can write reviews for each other based on transactions they completed. Just a thought. palandri | HeatWare.com
