Has anybody switched from a 930 to 830. Denim hasn't fixed my main issues with this phone(heat and battery life) so im thinking about switching it for an 830. I want to know mostly in terms of screen and camera how much worse is the 830 compared to the 930 I mostly think ill miss this screen the most but idk I would like to hear from somebody

I really can't find any problems with battery, well every phone heats up when it's being pused to it's limits, going from 930 to 830 is huge downgrade.

i really can't stand it i mean i flashed my phone to get denim and the battery has improved slightly and the heat has reduced by a tad bit but still not what i expect from a $600 phone

I have neither of them but i am considering the 830 due to battery performance. In my opinion is not a major downgrade, unless you are a gamer

I may be wrong, but the processors are vastly different as well. I think the 830 has the 400 processor and the 930 has the 800 processor.

I'd be interested in an answer to this as well. I just "upgraded" from a 925 to a 930 this week and the heat at the bottom of the 930 is a real issue!
And yes battery life is disappointing too. I was starting to think mine js faulty, especially as I'm hardly using it!

I did just that. I had both the 930 and 830 for about two weeks, together, side by side.
I have most the common problems on the 930, purple screen bleed, ran hot when using any CPU intensive apps, horrid battery and also its very heavy and slippery.
I could not tell much of a difference in speed between the 830 and 930, spec differences be damned. People spewing about specs are usually just specs peepers. Real world use is what matters to most people.
Anyway I sent the 930 back after two weeks and kept the 830 and have had no problems with it.
It's lighter and much thinner and not slippery, good battery life, doesn't get hot, removable battery and SD card support are huge to me.

Specs don't matter in the windows world from I've seen but I would like to have a battery that can last me the day but one question I know the screen is a downgrade but was it noticeable worse or is like I'd need to have my eyeball on the screen to tell the difference in real world use

I really can't find any of this problems with my 930, batery life is good, the phone heats but doesn't seem to me anything abnormal in this kind of equipments, my 'old' 925 heats a lot more.

I couldn't tell a difference. My blacks are inky, silky blacks and my whites are snow white.
I simply adjustment to the backlighting.

No, the 830 is NOT a "huge downgrade". The 830 does?t heat up at all compared to the 930. In close-up shots the 830?s camera is sharper due to the sixth lens witch i?m pretty sure the 930 only has 5. Then there is the obvious glance screen, removable back and micro SD-card support witch the 930 has none of. The battery on the 830 is amazing and lasts 18-20 hours whitout a problem. From what I?ve heard the 930?s battery life is not that good. The screen resolution? Sure. Not a problem for me though since i can barely make out the pixels when i try to see them on my 830. Sure you get some weaker specs but this is NOT android and i have never experienced any lag on my 830. Gaming is as flawless as it can be. I have been playing a couple of graphically intense games and no lag there at all. 930 is the downgrade in my opinion.

This thread couldn't have come at a better time for me. I am in the same dilemma of going for a 930 or an 830. So far it looks like I'd be better served by the 830. If all goes well, I'd have an 830 by the end of the day.

Sunlight readability of the 830 is much better than on the 930. 830 has glance and SD card support.2 features the 930 lacks.

The screen on the 830 is decent, and setting the color profile to vivid will give the saturation of and oled screen (almost). Unlike 1020 vs 930, you will notice the differences in the camera. The camera is definitely better than the 925's

IMO, If heavy gaming, hey cortana and 4k video is not that important to you, Switch to the 830. 830 heats up a bit when you are gaming heavily while its charging. But the heating is on the top of the phone so you wouldn't notice it.

Yes it matter. Matter a lot.Specially after Wp8.1
old X20 series suffering from serious performance issues like" Loading" or Resuming screen even in opening Settings.
Official apps(music, video etc) are becoming specs hungry and now need atleast 1GB RAM for avg performance and yet not able to perform as good as it was in Wp8.

Current WP isn't same as old OS. It's now specs hungry as Android.

Honestly I haven't seen much difference in the OS between my 930 and a 630 so I expect the same from an 830

Okay thanks man the 830 seems like the best option for me right now
Believe me u ll luv dis downgrade to Lumia 830 :) espically glance is a awesome feature to have along with thinner lighter and among other features disscussed... Finally windows users have justified its tag of affordable flagship...
