Take photos at lockscreen

I readed somewhere that it is possible to take picture with windows phone 8 phones who have shutter key while on lockscreen.
If it's true, could anyone explain how to do it exactly ?

Press and hold the shutter button. Although, mine doesn't always work, for some reason. It usually does, but sometimes doesn't. And it's almost always at inopportune times.

One of my favorite features on WP. When I need a photo, I'm hitting that button as I pull it out of my pocket
