I want to put Win 10 Preview on my SP3 i3. However i have read some really weird stories about how the SP3 won't boot from USB. To clarify:
(1) Made a backup / recovery USB stick from inside the SP3 per the Windows app.
(2) Plugged in the USB stick to my normal PC
(3) Made a new VM in VMWare Player to test
(4) booted and installed on VM OK.
(5) took USB stick, put on SP3, tried to boot off USB, failed
(6) followed BIOS instructions to boot from USB, worked
(7) got to the Recovery screen, stopped there
My question is: If I got that far to recovery mode off the USB stick on the SP3, and it was tested OK on a VM for the install, is it safe to put Windows 10 on the SP3 and KNOW that I will be able to get 8.1 back if 10 is a trainwreck?
Thanks in advance.
