The section where the surface cove connects with the surface 3, sp3, sp4 - can that section be repurposed to use something else?

I'm thinking - what if you could attach an accessor instead of the cover? Like an external camera or card reader or something. Is this possible?

That is a great question/idea Chintan, I would like to something that would allow you to use the Surface as a remote control/screen for taking pictures on a DSLR, or flying a Drone.
