I don't want to be one that guy whose "already talking about the next one" but..

The Next Surface Pro (Surface Pro 5) should have the option of a solid keyboard like the Surface Book. It should be sold for more money alongside the thin colorful Type covers many of us know and love!

Wouldn't this be a great idea. This would make the Surface pro's laptop mode finally just as good as a traditional laptop. Like a smaller Surface Book. Just don't put all the dang batteries into the keyboard and then leave the actual tablet with just mere bits of juice.

Re: The Next One Should have a Solid Keyboard

Could it even be possible to just make a solid keyboard with ports and battery that has a magnet strong enough to hold the Surface Pro up without the Kickstand now? I never understood why they couldn't do this. Even if they did do this I would still like the Kickstand as it is nice to have when using it without the keyboard but still.

The device is too heavy to work in a docked keyboard --- it would tip over. There's a reason why the screen of the Surface Book is much lighter than the Surface Pro 4.

I wouldn't want to travel with a solid keyboard! The latest Type Cover is perfect for my needs. And if I need a solid keyboard on the desk I can have it now. It doesn't have to be attached.

If I were to make a suggestion to Microsoft, I would go the other way around and make a travel Type Cover for Surface Book!
