Tonight at 9 central time the switch gets flipped and we get new member email verification. That's right they finally got the bugs worked out. Here is to hoping this cuts the spam.

Its been asking me to install some sort of .js (a java script) on my W8.1 machine (IE11) since this morning everytime I try to log in - has anything changed on front screen following this?

From what I've seen, before we were getting maybe 8 to10+ per day. over that last three days we've had 6, 4, 4. So it looks like it's cut in half.

Addendum: It's bit higher today. We've had 10 so far today as of 10:00am 1/28

I think it's too early to tell if it's working or not. So far today we've already had 12 banned spammers.

I rarely see any comments, since I tend to use RSS apps (NextGen/NewsBlur) to read the blogs, and I typically don't bother with readers' comments except on sites like Wall St Journal (since those comments tend to be more intelligent than any others). To me, the "First" comments are as annoying as actual spam.

Sounds like overall things might be better... still early days though, let's see how this shakes out. Keep me updated here though please. Want to know exactly how this progresses *fingers crossed*
