Transition from 7.5 to 8.0

Most apps that I use can back up their own data except for games. I'm not looking forward to losing my game progress when I upgrade. I'm still hoping MS will release a tool to migrate our data to a new phone. Really, it's the least they could do for us early adopters.

I guess I'm in that sense lucky to not have a WP7 device to not even hope for that :P

That said, I dont care for playing games on phones anyways, so not like my N8 has any game progress (or even really any app data) to save anyways. Somehow I never found any need or interest towards apps, N8 did just about everything I wanted out of the box.. Only apps I really have is JoikuSpot for wifitethering, a Bible-app (I study theology so it comes handy) and some of the Angry Birds games (I think finns got at least one of them for free for a while or so), but I believe all the Angry Birds games I had got deleted/became incompatible as they were with some Symbian update, I played em through anyways so don't really care :P

If the apps from 7.5 are meant to work on 8 then I see no reason why they shouldn't be able to migrate the data over if they build into whatever software they deploy.

Some apps these days allow me to backup to Skydrive but not every app has this yet, and games certainly don't..pushing the Xbox live game part of the OS and then making everyone lose their saves games when upgrading would also be a bit stupid in my eyes.

Here's hoping.

The only game I was seriously playing was ilomilo. I finished it but then got an update with more levels, which I never finished.

Luckily I only paid for 2 or 3 apps that I no longer care about. With WP8, I'm thinking about starting from scratch with a new Microsoft Account I created a month or two ago.
