Okay, I have the app now (thanks revfast)...now I'm curious as to what the differences in these are. :p

3G is pretty obvious, but what is the difference in the "AT&T - LTE 1 - Lumia" and "AT&T - LTE 2 - Lumia"? Or is that in this thread and I simply missed that, too? ;)

I didn't notice any difference in LTE 1 or LTE 2, or even 3G for that matter. Activating any of them didn't change the network status of my phone one bit. It stayed on LTE the whole time when I activated 3G setting. I even rebooted, airplane mode on and off, removed SIM, etc. Then I also noticed that internet sharing didn't work for me anymore. It said call 611. There was no way to remove the access point app, or go back to default. At that point I decided to flash back to 1249 to get field test menu and internet sharing back. I have a branded AT&T Lumia 920 on mobile share.

with 3g only activated I get HSPA/HSPA+, my battery life is way better I easy get at least 6-8 hrs more (no kidding), Plus LTE in southern california is a joke, 4g/hspa is faster. I guess someone has to teach ATT how to do some capacity planning.

Hoping for the magical unicorn fix and installed Nokia Access Point - it jacked me up too on tethering. Did nothing on anything else. My bad for being a lemming. Waiting on a landline to get with AT&T. My battery life is back to 4 hours on LTE before needing a charge. Constantly looking for a signal in Phoenix (Tempe/Chandler - within the LTE zone)...

About to go back to one of our extra iPhones. Too much little stuff is pissing me off with the Nokia lately - it thought I was in Mexico the other day on the time. When asked, I've been suggesting the iPhone - they have problems, but nothing like I have had with multiple 920s... quality assurance is much better.

Thanks for confirming that access point app does not work. I'm sorry you had to find out the hard way. You can flash back to previous ROM 1249 by downloading it using navifirm and installing it with nokia care suite. Then you will get the ##3282 field test back. It appears that is the only solution to turning LTE off for now.

So do you pay for tethering ?? or is there a trick to use the Internet Sharing without activating it @ ATT 611 ?

sorry I didn't mean to break people's phone, for me it works (I dont use tethering).

Not your fault. I posted about the internet sharing break before that. He may be on mobile share plan which allows internet sharing from smartphones. My plan has 6GB and all devices share that amount of data, whether it's an Iphone, Lumia, or Ipad. It's your data to do as you please. AT&T doesn't care if you tether with that kind of plan. In fact I'm sure they would like for you to, so you will use up all your data and pay for more. Maybe I could have resolved it by calling AT&T, but at that point I just wanted to flash my phone back to 1249. Are you still able to disable LTE, by selecting 3G from Access point? If so, does it actually stick and not switch between LTE and 3G? Are you able to select LTE 1 and LTE 2 to go back to LTE? If so you are the only person in which this is working and have solved the turn off LTE issue on the 1308 firmware. The question is how is it working for you and no one else that I know of, including me.

I pay for tethering, and I don't have an app - I go to settings>Internet Sharing, and I only have the options of changing the SSID and password - I can't control data.

I realize that much of what I'm about to say may in fact be obsolete given you boys are using Windows Phone 8 and I'm using a HSPL'd HTC Titan and a custom flashed WP7.8 ROM. AT&T MVNOs do not use AT&T 4G LTE. You might want to try to insert a Straight Talk (AT&T) SIM card into your devices which I'm told does not require a PUK Subsidy Unlock for them to work. I scanned the QR codes for Nokia Network + and Nokia Access Point, neither available on my WP7.8 device. My question to all of you is whether the Nokia Network Setup XAP is compatible on your 920s; if so, you can manually input the values you need to make your devices return to HSPA+. On my end what I have been trying to do is to manually change the HSUPA Category something akin to the Build Prop Editor in Android but I can't find the information anywhere. Titan owners were bewildered when their mobile data speeds barely broke 3 to 4 megs down and that remains my situ today while my relic HD2 is pulling 5 megs down on T-Mobile and my wife's HTC One (M7) is pulling a cool 6.8 to 7.0 on our Straight Talk plan and we live in a very rural area which recently upgraded from EDGE to I'm guessing 3.5G/HSPA+. I remember when our devices read "4G" and thinking this can't be this slow. So I share your frustrations in regards to AT&T. After reading all 4 pages of your messages I have to wonder whether I benefit from upgrading to a Lumia 920 if the damn thing is more locked down than the Titan II (Radiance) owners. I don't understand the logic or the common sense behind AT&T rationale and frankly I'm fet up with the roadblocks Microsoft and AT&T have put in front of Windows Phone owners particularly 7.x owners. I do have one question about how one of you is able to flash an older ROM onto your 920; is that goldcard method or a reminder of the good old days when we put our devices into bootloader mode and flashed the nbh? Thanks!

I generally followed the instructions in http://forums.windowscentral.com/no...after-reset-flash-process-defined-inside.html before Nokia blocked access to the 1249 ROM. When my son had his 920 replaced under warranty it had the 1308 ROM so I flashed the 1249 ROM so he could gain access to the Field Test menu.

I don't understand AT&T on this issue either. I live in this little pocket where 4G doesn't reach very well and 2G is just fine. Besides, I'm on WiFi so why should I use 4G? My phone is nearly useless on 4G at home since I usually have to go outside a ways away from my house to get a good signal. I have two options, spend several hundred dollars on a booster or keep a ROM that allows me to switch the phone to 2G only.

Please try this, I was able to enable the 4G back again:
To enable 4G
1) Settings --> cellular
2) Goto Option: "Network Selection"
3) Select "automatic" from available network (do select again eventhough if you already have it as "automatic" initially)
This reverted me back to the Data connection to highest available network like E or 3G or 4G

Reply back if this works for you.

I take it you don't have an AT&T phone. The version for AT&T does not have that option which is why we have to use the "Field Test" menu by dialing ##3282#.

Is there a way to go into the apn settings and add this:
Name: ATT
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: <Leave in Blank>
Port: <Leave in Blank>
Username: wap@cingulargprs.com
Password: cingular1
Server: <Leave in Blank>
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
APN type: default,supl,mms
APN Protocol: Leave it to the Default one

At least on Android, for my old S3 and current Nexus 5, using these settings, I was able change from 4GLTE to 4G. Perhaps, add this to a 920 may allow switching to 4G. I have ordered a used 820, and after reading about the poor battery life, I'm thinking of changing from 4GLTE to 4G to help with the battery life.

The Field Test menu lists 4G only as an option. I don't know if it turns off LTE but I don't have poor battery life on my 920. That is a change from when I first got my phone, however. There was some change AT&T made to the towers in my area and that seemed to decrease the battery consumption rate. I just turn off WiFi and switch to Auto when I leave home (I have poor 4G coverage at home) and I get great battery life.
