Two items in 10586.122 that I really hope are as good:

  • Updated background processing of multiple changes to improve battery life of devices.
  • Improved Alarm reliability

The battery life is decent but could use improvement. I can get through the day at work but always have it plugged in to my Choetech fast charger driving to or from work (about 25 minutes each way). Actually almost any time I'm driving, it's plugged in. Tells you what I think about the battery.

The second one isn't as important as I use Realarm (and it hasn't failed me yet), but I know the out-of-box alarm has been a tricky, random, issue for many people.

Battery life is the biggest point for me, have a 1520 and went from 2 days battery life to half a day with windows 10, slowly got better with the last few updates but still not great.

Also battery dies at like 40-60% fairly often without any warning if im actively using the phone :/ dont know if thats windows or the battery (which has been replaced as the original batter was fried by the microsoft wireless charger >.<

Are you guys on Fast Ring? I haven't seen 122 on my Lumia 640 LTE yet.

If u r in fast ring, just open insider app, choose 3rd option. And update the phone to get this build.

Got it on my Lumia 640 on the Preview Release ring. Slow download and update. Did not do a hard reset. The only thing I have noticed so far is that Data Usage is still not recording my cellular data--only recording the WiFi data. By the way, no problems with battery life on the Lumia 640 either on .107 or on .122 so far, but I have only had it since last night so not much of a test yet.

I've really liked this build so far! I was on 8.1 due to a upgrade error with the last build. But this one seems great! It even preserved my apps and settings. Previous ones didn't seem to do this well. More like a factory reset.

I haven't hard reset my phone. It seems to be running great.

Idle battery life seems about the same to me, which is still significantly worse than WP8.1. My phone sits idle 95% of the time, so that's the primary metric that matters to me.

Gabe didn't say that
From the .122 build announcement here:
Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.122 now available for Slow and Release Rings
The release is only for those on the Slow and Release Rings of the Insider program as Fast Ring is limited to newer devices (e.g. Lumia 550, 950, 950 XL) and Redstone releases as announced by Microsoft in January.
So, temporarily there is no Fast ring for 'old' devices. Once we get official W10M upgrade we'll be able to use it again.

Fast Ring is limited to newer devices (e.g. Lumia 550, 950, 950 XL) and Redstone releases as announced by Microsoft in January.

That linked announcement doesn't mention that Fast Ring is limited to the newer devices, only that Build 14251 was limited to those devices.

After that linked announcement, older devices on Fast Ring received build 10586.71 on February 1 and build 10586.107 on February 10.

Microsoft may have changed Fast Ring support for older devices at some point, but it was definitely not at the end of January as Windows Central reported.

One thing to point out is that we are all comparing battery life to when we were on 8.1. It is not as good yet, but our batteries have also gotten worse by all the recharging from then. I sometimes even charge it twice a day, which has probably taken its toll on the battery by now. Like Azlan said, that his battery dies at 40% sometimes, this is a clear sign that it is coming to an end soon. Mine isn't there yet, but it can't be as good as when the phone was new. Lumia 930, got it since the release...

I've gone from about 11hr of projected battery life on my Lumia 635 with 10586.107 to this:

I can't compare battery life 0n .122 since I have only run W10 on my new Lumia 640, but I am getting all-day life, which is all you can hope for on a phone. In other words, I charge overnight and then can go all day until bedtime without a charge. No overheating or other unusual battery draining behaviour. If you are experiencing unusual drain I would suggest a hard reset if you haven't already tried that.
