UK Pricing Released L950 & L950XL - MS Store

Let's remove the 20% VAT and compare using the current exchange rate with the US:

Lumia 950 - ?499.99 - VAT = ?415.83 = US$636.76, a US$87.76 premium over US pricing
Lumia 950XL - ?549.99 - VAT = ?458.32 = US$701.83, a US$51.84 premium over US pricing

Or looking at it in reverse, what's the UK pricing need to be, including VAT, to be equivalent to the US pricing:

Lumia 950 - US$549.99 = ?359.17 + VAT = ?431.00
Lumia 950 XL - US$649.99 = ?424.27 + VAT = ?509.12

There is an import duty as well as VAT. And then because UK people have better consumer protection, that costs money too.

Sounds pretty similar when that is all factored in.

Apart from import duties, don't forget Microsoft's EU HO is in Ireland so effectively it's the dollar converted to Euros then converted to sterling

Handtec.co.uk have the 950 at ?394.99 & XL at ?444.99 Actually no that's the price's without VAT so Microsoft Store is still the cheapest place atm

For comparison, this is the same price as the 1520 was on launch (?549). By that standard, the 950XL is pretty good value considering how much better it (allegedly) is.

Totally worth it to be honest, the 920 was ?440.33 plus vat at launch.

These prices are actually without VAT, so it comes out the same as Expansys overall.

GiffGaff are now listing the 950 as "Coming Soon". No pricing indicated yet, but GG are normally pretty reasonable and factory unlocked, plus have an option finance (up to 24 months).

Single sim in UK. From what I've read the dual sim version will be available to pre-order through Microsoft-India site.
